Luka was woken up the next morning, to the sun shining on her face, the creature was sitting at the mouth of the den watching the rising sun. She walked over and sat down next to him.

"Good morning." He said after a moment.

"Good morning," Luka said back.

"Listen kid, can we please just forget about last night." He said.

"Well actually I was thinking a-about, about."

"About what?" He asked.

"About what you said last night, about not having a name," Luka responded.

"Yeah what about it?" He asked.

"Well what about G-Goldie for your name?" She suggested

"Goldie I like it." He chuckled.

"Y-you do?" Luka asked, shocked.

"I love it," Goldie said, nuzzling her.

Luka hugged him and pressed her face into the fur of his chest.

At noon Goldie walked Luka home. They were walking together.

"Can I ask you something?" Luka asked.

"Yes of course," Goldie said.

"Is your head actually made of gold?" She asked.

"No, no it's not." He said. "Well there is a little gold."

"W-what else is it made out of?" She asked.

"Well a wolf's skull, gold, and magic," Goldie said.

"M-may I feel it?" Luka asked.

"Oh, I suppose." He said chuckling and sitting down.

Luka bent down and stroked his face, it was smooth like metal, but it was warm like it wasn't bone.

"Wow that's so cool." She said.

Goldie chuckled. "Come on I have to get you home."

They continued walking to the edge of the woods.

"I know the way home from here," Luka said.

"Well goodbye," Goldie said.

"Will I ever see you again." She asked.

"You are free to visit me whenever you want, I'll always be here for you." He said.

"I-I don't deserve this," Luka said.

"What are you talking about, of course, you deserve this, you're a wonderful and kind person," Goldie told her.

Luka bent down and hugged him around the neck, he softly kissed the top of her head.

"You should be getting home now." He whispered.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," Luka said. "Well, goodbye," She said.

"Goodbye Luka," Goldie said, before going back into the woods.

When Luka got home, she ate a sandwich, watched tv, then went to bed, she heard her parent's get home around midnight.

When she got out of the shower in the morning, of course, her parents weren't home, she had a bowl of cereal and got ready for school.

It had now been a little more than a month, Goldie was laying outside his den enjoying October's cool temperature. He sat straight up when he heard someone coming.

"Who are you come out and maybe I won't kill you!" He barked.

Luka stepped out of the forest, she was crying.

He ran over to her, when he did he saw she was covered in cuts, bruises, and scrapes

"Luka, oh my god! What happened to you!?" He asked.

"I-It was." Luka started sobbing.

Suddenly his body started changing, his arms and legs were now long and boney, he stood up, he was a foot or two taller than her. Goldie pulled Luka to him and wrapped his arms around her.

"Shhh shhh, it's alright, it's alright." He whispered. "What happened to you?" He asked.

"I-It was J-Jack and his f-friends." She said, between sobs.

He carried her into the den and sat her down with her in his lap. Goldie rocked her back and forth. Now that he saw here he noticed a large cut on her cheek.

"Luka please, tell me what happened, tell me what they did to you." He told her.

"W-well I was w-walking home and, and t-they chased me bikes, a-and one of t-them had a k-knife, t-they tackled me and k-kicked me, he started cutting my cheek, but I was able to push him off and r-run away," Luka told him.

"Let me guess, your parents aren't home?" Goldie asked.

"Yeah, they're gone for the week." She told him.

"Ok that's it," Goldie said. "Come on, I'm coming home with you," He said, standing up.

Once they got to the edge of the woods, Luka said goodbye.

"This isn't goodbye, didn't you hear me, I'm coming home with you," He said.

"But what if someone sees you?" Luka asked.

"Oh I've got that covered," Goldie said and with that, his body started changing. His fur and tail, shrunk into a suite, his muzzle shrunk into a normal face. By the end of it, he appeared as a tall broad man wearing a white suit, with his thin blonde hair pulled into a ponytail.

"Suprised?" He asked, when he saw her staring.

"Uhhh, yeah duh," Luka said. "I mean, you just completely changed your entire anatomy in a matter of seconds," She said.

"Well yeah I am sorta a shapeshifter, he said smiling, in the fading light Luka could see his teeth were still slightly pointed. "Well we best be going, it's getting dark," He said.

"Y-yeah you're right, I-I'll show you the way." She said.

When they got to the house five minutes later, Goldie instructed her to go sit in the chair. When she did, he went to the kitchen looked around for a few minutes, he came back with bandages and alcohol and bandages.

He cleaned and bandaged the cuts on her arms and cheek.

"Get some rest, I'll make you something to eat," Goldie told her. He went into the kitchen and Luka went and lied down on the couch. She must have fallen asleep at some point because before she knew it Goldie was shaking her awake. "Luka, come on get up, dinners ready." He told her.

Luka sat up and rubbing her eyes she walked into the kitchen. When she sat down, Goldie sat a bowl of beef stew in front of her. She took a spoonful and put it in her mouth. It was one of the most delicious things she had ever tasted. Luka finished the whole bowl in a matter of minutes after she ate she went to bed.

The next morning when Luka was walking down the stairs after her shower, she could smell something cooking. In the kitchen she found Goldie making toast, eggs, and bacon.

After she sat down he brought over a toasted, bacon and egg sandwich.

As Luka ate Goldie spoke to her. "I'm coming to school with you." He said.

"Wha-what why?" Luka asked.

"I would like to see who these bullies are, " Goldie told her.

"But how will you?" She was cut off by goldie.

"I'm a shapeshifter don't you remember?" He said and right before her eyes turned into a small black mouse with big and bright yellow eyes. It ran across the table and jumped onto her shoulder.

So Luka ended up walking to school with a small mouse perched on her shoulder.

Luka was walking to her first hour when a tall blonde boy with obvious fake curls hit her things out of her hands before walking over to join two other boys, everyone was laughing.

a few minutes later she was sitting in her chair waiting for the teacher when Goldie whispered in her ear.

"Were those the boys who bully you?" He asked.

"Y-yeah," Luka mumbled, under her breath.

"Well I'm leaving, and I know you won't like this but I won't be home right away, and you'll probably have to eat the leftover beef stew, is that ok?" He asked.

"Y-yeah its ok," Luka whispered.

And with that, the mouse jumped out of the window, and moments later a large black crow with a gold-colored beak flew past.
