It had been nearly six months since Goldie and Luka had seen each other. It was the start of Luka's spring break and she wanted it to be spent with Goldie. Her parents wouldn't be home for most of that time so it would be the perfect opportunity. She had packed a few things the day before and was now walking through the woods, she came to the clearing and the den. She quickly realized something was wrong, the weather was nice but Goldie wasn't outside.
She slowly walked into the den. "Goldie, are you in here?" She asked. Luka gasped when she saw Goldie laying in the back of the den bleeding from a bullet hole in his side.
She ran over to him, crying. Goldie sat up, and Luka wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Luka relax, relax I'm fine." He said, comforting her.
"Bu-but you-'re hurt you're bl-bleeding." Luka sobbed.
"Don't worry I'm not even bleeding my skin is completely healed, and the fur has already grown back, and all the internal damage will be healed before morning," Goldie told her.
"Y-you're not going to die?" Luka asked.
"No, of course not no one's gonna die," Goldie said, he licked her face.
"S-so what happened?" Luka asked.
"Just a hunter. trying to kill the Golden Wolf Devil, and now he'll have a story to tell, he'll probably tell everyone he did." Goldie said laughing lightly.
Luka now feeling better, curled up next to him. "I missed you." She told him.
"I missed you too," Goldie said, kissing the top of her head.
She snuggled next to him for the remainder of the evening, covering herself with the blanket she had brought from home. She fell asleep after a couple of hours.
Goldie nudged Luka awake at around midnight.
"Wha-what, what is it?" She asked.
"I have something to show you." He said. "Come on."
Luka followed Goldie outside, and to the top of the den.
"Wh-why are we out here?" She asked, pulling her blanket tighter around her. "I-I don't like it out here." She whimpered, pulling the blanket tighter around herself.
"Lay down and look up." He instructed her.
Luka listened to him, lied on the ground and looked up. From the top of the den, there was a perfect view of the full moon which was currently directly overhead the sky was a mix of dark purple and blue. The stars were shining bright, and the trees formed an almost perfect circle, the whole scene looked like a painting.
"W-wow t-that's...that's. I can't even think of the words to say that can describe it." Luka said.
"Hmmm, what about beautiful?" Goldie asked, laying down next to her.
Luka smiled. "Beautiful yeah." She said.
They sat outside in till the moon was no longer in perfect view.
