I covered my plate as I felt Alex's eyes on it, this time I wouldn't let him have my food. It was too delicious. We were currently in the kitchen, eating the best food ever made. It had been a few days since the food started to greatly improve, I could easily say that in all our history it was the best food our cook ever made. I learned from Alex, my Alpha and best friend, that a rogue we welcomed a few weeks ago became our new cook. As the pack's beta, I think I should go welcome him and thank him for the amazing food, it was just that I had been too busy with paperwork.
I moaned in pleasure as I ate another mouthful of the scrambled eggs that were on my plate. I could feel my taste buds humming in delight at the heat, just at the right temperature, spread from my tongue to the roof of my mouth and finally to my throat. The heat started to subdue from there on, but it still warmed my body which tingle pleasantly in answer. I could imagine the farm in which the chicken gave birth to those eggs, the field where the peppers were taken from and the soil that inside of it were grown the onion. All those ingredients were now in this simple but delicious omelette with little spices which just made it even better, if it was even possible. The birds sang in my head and the sun shone brightly as I took another piece of the masterpiece. The texture was just perfect, not too squishy but not too hard.
It was a meal as good as this one that we ate since we had a new cook and I could proudly say that I gained a few pounds even though us, werewolves, didn't gain weight easily. The new cook didn't have any schedule, we could just ask for food by the pack link and he would make it and have another pack member send it to us or make us come if nobody was available. That was why I hadn't meet him yet, I was always in my office, so I had another pack member bring me my plates. I had to say that I didn't have just three meals a day and with my unmoving body it caused a few pounds to add to it. However, now that I finished all my paper works, I would be able to see him.
"James, I know that you just finished all your paperwork but I'm sorry to say that you will have to do more. I decided to host a ball to find my mate." My Alpha said with eyes screaming sorry and an apologizing tone. I sighed and agreed because I knew that he, too, would have much more paperwork to do now. I guess that our meeting would have to wait and anyway with all the food to do for the ball, he would be very busy.
I got up and put my plate in the dishwasher because nobody liked to wash dishes. I walked upstairs, to my office, but while I was passing before a room, I smelled a wonderful smell. I stopped but assumed that it must be a meal made by the new cook and continued on my way.
The new cook sure knew how to do his job and wonderfully.
