Karana By Kainat Arma

Karana By Kainat Arma

Aug 07, 2020

Today’s review is Karana by Kainat Arma. The first thing I noticed when looking at Karana from the outside was the incredible cover. No matter what people say about judging a book by its cover, a person most likely will read a book if the cover is striking. Karana's cover art is probably one of the most impressive artworks I have seen on Tapas. I absolutely loved reading Karana, and I cannot wait to learn more about this beautiful world Kainat Arma has created.

What I loved about Karana was the captivating background to the novel. I loved how Kainat Arma drew out the environment to be this astonishing universe. Something that I have noticed when some authors create an environment for their story, they write about it in a way that makes it seem unrelated to the novel. What I loved about Karana was that the background was not set apart from the characters, it was just where they lived, not something incredible or different to them. It is necessary to represent an environment through the characters' eyes as it is through our own when we look at the world. Kainat Arma has mastered the art of writing backgrounds, she knows how to create the perfect environment for her story, and she does this while creating the most enchanting novel.

One issue that I found is that there are several times where the characters speaking parts have not been clear. Unclear speech causes confusion among readers, if the author is not clear in what they are writing, it can backfire on them. In some conversations, there are words and sentences which seem out of place. At one point a character asked a question that made no sense to be part of that conversation. When a discussion is unclear in a novel, it can cause one of the main points to not get across to readers. While speech is probably the hardest part of writing, it is the most vital to get correct. If a person does not write a character's speech realistically, it can falsify a character. Other than that, Karana is an extraordinary story.

The thing I love the most about Karana is the wonderful descriptions that Kainat Arma uses to further develop her story. She describes the simplest things that barely affect our daily lives with pure delicacy. The evocations she creates are incredibly professional. The literary ability of Kainat Arma is fantastic, I have seen professionals with a lesser ability to draw out sequences through their words. With the descriptions she uses, every simple object in Karana seems less plain. Evocations are one of the most important literary devices an author can use to help pull their readers in. They are one of the most prominent parts of a novel. Evocations can help let readers understand what the world the author is painting with their writing. They can show readers the depth of a concept, object, or feeling and teach their readers to understand them. It is the use of descriptors that open a story up and let its readers touch it. Kainat Arma has opened her novel up and completely pulled her readers in.

Kainat Arma is an extraordinary novelist, she writes with the most incredible descriptions with a unique environment to set her story. While there were some issues, I struggled to even find even one other constructive criticism for Karana. Kainat Arma has an incredible skill for writing, and I would gladly recommend this story to anyone.
