• Haren Tsiyu: Kôra's adoptive uncle, needs emotional peace.

• Delven: Kôra's classmate #1, a voice of reason.

• Talst Sanathian: Kôra's classmate #2, does not seem very friendly.

• Izky: That grumpy guy in the café, he noticed something off about Kôra.

• Iota: She knows a lot of thing, Izky's friend and Keane's accomplice.

• Keane Lampblack: Mysterious guy who later agrees to take care of Kôra, his parents were friends with Kôra's.

• Silûn: Kôra's classmate #3, a pretty good boy.

• Naldo: Kôra's batchmate who is maybe a little too interested in Kôra.

• Yûzan: Who is this person that Kôra had intimate relationship with?

RECAPITULATION

After an earthquake devastated his hometown in August, Kôra had to live in the city with his uncle — Haren. Everything started in March when Kôra's own reflection in the mirror inexplicably came out and stabbed his left eye. It talked and said they both are "Fellow dead people." Was it a mistake or was it not, Kôra saw the eye changes it color to green. A month later and the strange occuring did not cease, it even added more: Kôra lost control of his magical ability.

Persuaded by his classmates Talst and Delven, Kôra managed to get permission to do the group work in a cafe. He drew attention to two fellow visitors, namely Iota and Izky: Izky sensed a strange presence in Kôra, while Iota sent a picture of him to somebody she knew. The group was late home and Kôra got a scolding from Haren. Kôra's misplaced sense of taste did not help the situation, it urged him to find more about it instead.

A boy named Naldo tasted a sample of his lunch, which by it Kôra found out his uncle has been lacing his food with potion. He decided to confront his uncle which led to a fight.  Enter Keane who came across their location by Iota's message, and revealed to be a family friend. In the aftermath of the reconciliation between Kôra and Haren, Keane agreed to temporarily let the boy stay in his house.
