"So, that's what happened?" Michael asked while frowning after Nexus told him what had happened between him and Maximino, four days ago.

"Yeah. That's what happened." Nexus answered as he lay his back on the back pillows and wiped his face with his own palm. "I fucked up, Michael. I fucked up. Big time."

Michael placed a cold canned beer on the table in front of them before he sat on the sofa across Nexus seat.

Nexus quickly grabbed the beer, opened it and drank from it.

"And you are planning to stay here in my house because he wants to take you and cohabitate with you?" Michael asked again.

Nexus nodded tiredly. "That asshole is so persistent! He even started hanging out outside my apartment!"

Michael shook his head then took a sip from his beer.

"Why didn't you just go with him---"

"No." Nexus responded quickly.

Michael shook his head again. He seemed to be expecting Nexus' answer.

Michael put his canned beer at the table then he sat comfortably with his legs crossed as well as his arms. Then he looked at Nexus with a serious look on his face.

"Nexus, I know you don't like the idea of being paired to an Alpha. But there is nothing you can do. It has already happened. You, now, has a pair. And whether you like it or not, and even if you don't want to admit it, we both know that you need him. You need your alpha." Michael said calmly.

The truth is, Michael did not expect this to happen to Nexus. He knows how careful Nexus is, to get away from this situation. Of all people, he is the one who knows the most, how much Nexus hated the alphas. Nexus repeatedly said that he will never be bind to an alpha. But then, here he is. What he didn't want to happen, has already happened. He mated with an alpha.

"Who said that I needed him? Hah! Hindi ko siya kailangan. So what if we're mates? So what if he is my pair? I can still live even of I'm not with him. What happened that night won't change anything. I don't need him and I will never need him."

Michael just sighed.

He's so stubborn. But then, if he is not stubborn, then he wouldn't be Nexus anymore. He thought while smiling.

"What? What is that smile for?" Nexus asked while raising on his brows when he saw Michael smiling like an idiot.

"Nothing." Michael replied then shrugged. "Anyway, why do you seem so angry with that alpha? Have you known each other for a long time? What did he do to you to make you hate him this much?" He asked curiously.

He knew Nexus hated alphas because of the bad things he experienced at the hands of alphas. Starting from his own family, to his alpha classmates, even from those alphas that he met on the street. Nexus never had a good impression and good experiences from alphas so he understands why he is so angry with them.

But this time, his gut feeling is telling him that Nexus has another reason why he is so opposed in being that alpha's pair. And he is so eager to know why. But he wouldn't force him if he did not want to say anything. He would respect his decision, even though he really wanted to know.

"That Maximino..." Nexus gritted his teeth as he mentioned the name of the alpha he hated. Michael looked at his friend's fists that was clenched tightly. Whatever the reason why Nexus hates that Maximino, he's sure that it is not just a simple reason. "That asshole...that asshole is the reason why my life was turned upside down."

Michael frowned.

"Then you really have known each other?" Michael asked. "But if you don't want to say anything, that's fine." He quickly said when he saw how dark Nexus face was.

But Nexus just sighed and tried to calm himself down. And when he finally calmed himself a little, he spoke again.

"Maximino and I...went to the same highschool before." Nexus started. "He powerful and affluent family. And since he came from an affluent family, everyone wanted to be on his side, everyone wanted to be close to him. And to add, he is also our Student Council's President. He was spoiled by everyone around him. His words are absolute and he is fully aware of that. So he used that power to get whatever he wants. Arrogant, self-centered. That's what he is. But I never really cared about him. I just wanted to graduate in high school without any problems. But Maximino..." His face darkened again when he remembered his bitter past. "I don't know what I did to him or if I did anything bad to him, but he started doing different evil things to me. Harassing me, making fun of me for being an omega, humiliating in front of our classmates and even teachers, ordering our classmates and schoolmates make fun of me and to bully me. But I endured all of that. I kept on thinking to just let them be, until they get tired and eventually, stop from doing those cruel things to me. I thought I could do it. But..." the clenching of his fists got even tighter. Even his teeth were gritting and his eyes were getting red. Michael can clearly see pain, agony and madness in Nexus' face that he just wanted him to stop talking. But he restrained himself. He wanted him to release all the pain and anger he's feeling inside him so that somehow, it would lighten his heart. So he kept silent. "What they are doing to me has intensified. They are not just hurting me physically and emotionally but they also started to sexually assault me. Every day. They always do that everyday. Every chance they get, they'd always try to hurt me physically, emotionally and sexually. They would always humiliate me. But those weren't enough to satisfy them." Nexus took a deep breath, trying to stop himself from crying but he failed. His tears started falling and Michael felt like his heart just broke after seeing Nexus being vulnerable. But even though he's already crying, he still continued talking. "A group of alphas, who happened to be Maximino's colleagues kidnapped me." Nexus looked at him with tears in his eyes. "They kidnapped me, Michael. And guess what they did after kidnapping me? They raped me. They gang raped me! 3? 4? 5? 6? Heck, I can't even count how many are they! They raped me, Michael. They raped me over and over again. I begged. I begged over and over again, just for them to stop and let me go but they didn't listen. They didn't listen to my cries and to my pleas! But that's just not it." Nexus cried even harder. "Because while raping me, they've taken tons of videos. Different videos of alphas raping me. A video of me, being fucked by three alphas at the same time! And those videos? They sent it to my family. They made my family watch that humiliating video of mine! And you know who asked them to do all of those things to me? It's no other than, that asshole, that devil, Maximino Salvador! It was him who ordered them to do those things to me. It was him who ordered to rape me. I was him, Michael. It was him. It was---"

"Nexus." Michael, cutting Nexus off.

He went close to Nexus, who was shaking and crying uncontrollably. He hugged him tightly as he repeatedly caressed his back, as if calming him down.

He could no longer bear to listen to him. He could no longer bear to see the fear, pain and anger on his face.

He silently cursed himself. He should not have asked any more questions. He shouldn't have brought up Nexus' painful past. He should have just kept his mouth shut.

"I'm sorry, Nexus. I'm sorry." He whispered as he still hugged Nexus who was still shaking and crying.

He closed his eyes and hugged him even tighter. He did not know what he was sorry for. Is it for reminding him of his past or he is sorry for what he went through.

But one thing is for sure, he won't let Nexus experience those cruel things before. He will protect him even if it costs his life.
