The walls around the cave shook. The loud roar of the minotaur echoed through the cave. The ground nearby continued to shake. It made the rocks around tremble. Kounna got himself pinned to the wall. The minotaur continues to bash itself against Kounna. As the monster took a step, Kounna struggled not to get impaled. His arms grasping the minotaur's horns. He gnashed his teeth as he exerted the strength. With his weapon scattered, his mind gave him two options. Either give enough distance to escape or snap the horns and stab the monster with it. But due to the large power gap between him and the minotaur neither options are viable.
The minotaur raised his head up. Kounna who was firmly holding the horns was suspended in the air. He was placed in an awkward position as their eyes met. Kounna wasted no time for quips as he kneed the minotaur's face. The monster groaned in pain. It then swung its head, throwing Kounna off him. In a swift motion the monster grabbed Kounna by the shirt and slammed him against the wall. The minotaur continued to push him on the wall. Before the monster can crack Kounna's chest he pulled out his gun. He aimed at the minotaur's eye and let out a generous amount of bullets. The attack made the minotaur release its grip. Kounna took this opportunity to come after his grapple which was luckily near him. The minotaur saw this and backhands Kounna.
Kounna flew away from his grapple. Kounna hit the wall hard. He dropped on the floor. He laid flat there and nearly unconscious if not for the roars of the minotaur. Kounna pulled himself up. He moved his eyes to look at the minotaur but what caught his eyes was his own electric sword. He pushed himself up and then he saw another item that would help him in the fight, his necklace. Kounna was aware that it could give him the speed of the chupacabra. But he had no idea how to get it. He remembered asking about it at the weapons shop. He concentrated and tried to remember what it was but it wasn't coming up.
He continued to think but his time was cut short. The minotaur was running after him. Kounna closed his eyes one last time. As he opened his eyes it felt like there was another thing that opened up. Everything that Kounna saw was relatively slower than before. It was as if everything was in slow motion yet Kounna thought it was his adrenaline kicking in. Kounna did not give it a second thought. As the minotaur charged he ducked down and swooped for his sword. He quickly slashed the monster's back.
The attack made the minotaur lose its balance. The monster fell with a loud that seemed like it could be felt throughout the cave. But at the other end of the cave the same level of intensity could be heard throughout.
Syun kept her distance from the golem and the child. But all her attacks seemed to be ineffective. Every bullet she fired to destroy the golem is quickly rebuilt by the monster itself. Syun knew that one way to kill the golem is by destroying its core. And for the past hour that is what she's been doing. But no matter what part of the golem she incinerated with her bullet the core is never to be found.
Her priority was still to protect the child. Syun kept an eye at the child while she fired at the monster. As they continued Syun ran out of bullets. Without a second to waste she reloaded. Right after she finished reloading she heard an unusual noise. Her protective instinct came in as the wall in front of the child crumbled. Syun dashed and saved the child away from harm.
The wall continued to break. Then a minotaur emerged from the other side. Syun's mind panicked as the minotaur added to her current problems. But her priority never changed. She grabbed the child as she aimed at the minotaur. As Syun was about to squeeze the trigger she saw something strange. It was Kounna. And he was dangling on the minotaur with his whip around the monster's neck. It was like Syun was witnessing an amatuer bull rider hanging for dear life. This commotion separated Syun and the child she was protecting.
Kounna wasn't aware of what was happening around him. His only thought is how best he could kill the beast. With his sword he stabbed at the monster. He continued despite the difficulties of his situation. As the minotaur screamed in pain the golem was also seen suffering from the stabbings.the golem was in so much pain that it did not even move itself. Syun took note of this but she couldn't fire at the minotaur without risking Kounna.
Filled with the pain of the sword, the minotaur reached for his back reaching for Kounna. He felt the monster's grasp and in a split second he was sent flying again with only his sword attached at the monster. Right after the monster tossed Kounna aside Syun let loose on the minotaur. But then she discovered that it was bullet proof as well.
Syun saw the golem recover. She hid her light machine gun away in favor of the P90's. She aimed at the golem and minotaur at the same time. Syun fired at them until she was out of bullets. The monsters noticed this and they advanced on Syun.
Kounna took almost a minute to stand up. But it was in time for him to give Syun some cover fire. As Kounna was nearly empty, Syun finished reloading and fired at the monsters. Kounna reloaded. He aimed his gun yet he saw something above the minotaur. He saw sharp stalactites. He gave a grin and changed his aim to the stalactites. Kounna fired repeatedly until one of the stalactites broke down and landed at the minotaur's shoulder. Syun decided to do the same to the golem. She continued and fired hoping to trap the monster.
While Syun was busy, Kounna saw his sword at the minotaur's back. Kounna holstered his gun and pulled his grapple. He aimed at his sword. He fired and it hit the pommel. It attached tightly so he gave it a few tugs. Realizing he had a secure connection, Kounna whipped his grapple with all his might. The whipping motion traveled towards the sword. That said motion also moved the sword ripping the minotaur's back wide open. Kounna finally tugged the sword towards him, killing the minotaur. As the minotaur fell down and died the golem crumbled down back into a pile of rubble. Syun rushed towards Kounna as he was catching his breath.
"Hey are you okay?" Syun asked Kounna.
Kounna simply gave a sharp exhale.
"I found one of the kids. If you hadn't burst out of the wall with that thing, the golem could've killed us." Syun said as she smiled.
He looked at Syun and the child she was protecting. "Was he with you the entire time?" Kounna asked.
"Yeah. I mean I made him run first. I also gave him enough distance that he won't get hurt"
"You brought the child while you were fighting a golem? Are you insane?" Kounna asked in his monotone yet sarcastic voice.
"Well what was I supposed to do?" Syun's voice raised.
"You tell them to hide while you kill the thing. If things get out of hand buy them some time and tell the to run"
"Hide? Where would they possibly hide over here?"
Kounna ignored as he walked back to the hole he just made. He continued to walk while Syun followed her. They continued to walk for a little while until Kounna stopped. He looked around then he shouted. "Hey kid, where are you?!"
"I'm right here!" The kid shouted elsewhere.
Kounna looked around.
"There" Syun tapped Kounna on the shoulder as she pointed to the right.
Kounna allowed Syun to lead them. Syun led them to where the kid was hiding. As they reached the child they were immediately surprised by what they saw. It was a messy room with a coffin in the center of it. The child who Kounna ordered to hide was seen looking at it with curiosity.
"What is this place?" Kounna asked himself while Syun was left puzzled as well.
