Klaus was in his room. There were a bunch of scattered papers around just lying on the floor, he was in the center of the mess looking around the different papers. His eyes danced around the room like it was looking for something. The movement felt hysterical but it wasn't, it was calm and calculated. After a little while Klaus closed his eyes. He raised his hands and joined them together, then he threw it on the side. The sudden motion caused a gust of wind to circle around him.
The whirlwind around him began to spew out fog. His eyes glowed bright, but if you looked closely you could see a murky cloud around it. Klaus raised his hand, the wind and fog followed. He chanted a short spell. Suddenly dark clouds hovered on the ceiling, it dimmed the entire room. This incantation was mimicked outside of his room. As the clear sunny skies of Puerto Dito dimmed and dark clouds casted as far as the eye could see. It then rained ash. The citizens of Puerto Dito were at first curious but that curiosity turned into fear. The moment the ash touched their hands it began to show boils, others felt a burning and itching sensation.
Puerto Dito, a city of peace is now a place of panic. Klaus could hear the noise inside his room. He had no other emotion to show other than joy. He smiled, then laughed. His mind only thought that this wouldn't come to fruition if his sister was here. Her sister whom he trapped in a coffin. A coffin that is in the cave guarded by monsters he made to protect the room where the coffin is held. Or at least he is aware of.
Syun felt uneasy, the children shared this unease with her. She looked at Kounna as the coffin stood before them. The man as usual protected a dull expression. One of the children held Syun's hand, then the other one did so himself. Everyone one in the room felt a small chill in their back.
"Hey. Does this look like a chest or a coffin?" Kounna asked Syun.
"Well it's obviously a coffin. I mean how could a chest resemble that thing?!" Syun replied infuriated.
Kounna showed a faint smile. He took a small step.
"Kounna, what are you planning to do?" Syun felt a little anxious each time Kounna stepped forward.
Kounna reached the coffin. He caressed the edges to find the parts without the hinges, he tried to open it up but it didn't budge. As he tried once more Syun felt little beads of sweat on her brow. Kounna decided to take out his sword and used it as a lever yet it still won't open. He strained for a little while until the coffin pushed him back.
Syun felt a burst of cold air as Kounma landed on his butt. She decided to approach the coffin, she then rested her hand atop the coffin. Syun closed her eyes and calmly breathed. It felt like she was looking for something inside the coffin. Her breathing was steady until she paused and clenched her teeth.
"Hey are you okay?" One of the children asked her.
"Yeah. It's just that this coffin's guarded by dark magic." She replied without opening her eyes.
Kounna looked around the place. It looked like a normal room. But with less modern appliances.
"But I could feel something. Something human" Syun said as she felt a clashing feeling of somber and bliss.
"So what do you propose we should do?" Kounna asked.
Syun opened her eyes. "I think I could open it."
"Why? Because you felt something human inside?"
"Yes. And whoever is inside may need our help"
"And if you're wrong? What if that's a trap ready to spring open?"
"Well then why would someone trap something with too much dark magic? That doesn't make any sense." Syun slammed the coffin.
"If you wanna do it then do it. But I won't be there to help, after all I was contracted to retrieve a cat. Now I have the cat as well as two lost kids." Kounna explained he pointed to the kids playing with the cat. "And besides I already have my fill of unnecessary fighting."
Kounna stepped out of the room. As he gave another step he felt a breeze tingle down his spine. Then a strong wind circulated around the room. He looked back and saw that the coffin was glowing. His face displayed a surprised look, he turned to Syun to see if she did something. Syun reflected Kounna's expression, they both looked at the children and were surprised to see one of them with glowing eyes.
They both struggled to close in to the child. As they pressed on their steps were hindered by the wind, as they got closer the wind became more violent. Syun was close enough to reach the child. The moment she reached her she could see that kid was muttering something. Syun called him out to stop but the child didn't hear her. She called out again, still no response. Syun took another step closer to her, then with a bit of struggle placed her hands on the kid's shoulder. She shook the kid and called out for him to stop.
The kid finally stopped from his trance. Syun checked on the child to see what happened. She traced the boy's eye line only to find a piece of paper on the ground. She came and took the piece of paper. The contents surprised her, it was an elven unlocking spell written in human language. She recognised the spell. It was a spell that could only be used by elves and mages. A human could use it but they require intensive training. Syun looked at the child, she wasn't surprised because she was aware that children have a high affinity for magic which diminishes when they grow up.
"What's that?" Kounna asked Syun about the paper.
"It's a spell that could unlock that." Syun replied as she pointed at the coffin. "Don't worry I stopped him before he could finish it."
Kounna groaned in relief. But before he could say anything the coffin's lid burst open. Everyone was suddenly filled with adrenaline. Out of the coffin a young lady levitated then stood up. She was around the same age as the kids they rescued. She was wearing old era clothing, but the peculiar thing about it is that it was oversized. Kounna and Syun were left puzzled.
The young lady sniffed the air around her. She moved her head as she sniffed, when her head was in the children's direction she stopped. Her eyes opened. Kounna saw her blood red eyes. She gave a menacing smile, her fangs slowly revealed themselves. The young lady growled in hunger. Kounna sighed in disappointment, it was another monster to fight.
