Hi everyone, long time no see! It is I, Bea (?) As I mentioned last time, my computer crashed so I couldn’t upload anything… hope you like these few pages!
Since it’s been a while, I want to talk a bit about how this story was created, I would like to add some character designs and extra things next time 'v'
* The idea for The Broken Hearts Club came to me while listening to Electra Heart by Marina (& the diamonds) for the 10000th time back in 2015. There’s a song called ‘The Lonely Hearts Club’ in this album aaand yep, that was the main inspiration for this comic (if you haven’t listened to Marina’s music I encourage you to do it, it’s amazing!). You see, I like to imagine stories as I listen to music so basically this one was sort of a music video in my head first? I do that a lot.
* I was struggling with depression back in 2015 too, this story makes me think about those days and gives me all sorts of mixed feelings. Like, it makes me remember that time and I don’t like that at all but, at the same time, working on something I couldn’t bring myself to finish during that time feels like an accomplishment. Idk, feelings are complicated.
* This story started with The Lonely Hearts Club and it took shape with music. Some of the artists from my Broken Hearts playlist include Marina, Halsey, The Arctic Monkeys, Tove Lo or The Smiths.
