Elina shook her head trying to forget the dozen questions she had about Neto and instead tried to focus on herself. What was she and where did she get her powers from.
She watched as Neto slowly raised his hand from the dagger to the bag, the dust within her handle drifting from the golden chamber to the dark abyss of his bag. The final remnants floated in and he quickly pulled the draw string. He quickly placed the bag back onto his hip and returned the dagger back into a choker.
"Well it has been fun Elina but I must leave now." he began to stand up. "Maybe well do this again in a year."
"Wait!" she said reaching over the table to grab his coat.
Before she could even lay a finger on him, he grabbed her wrist and sat back down. "What is it now?" he asked with a dangerous look.
"I want to know what I am?"
"That I still do not know, but I have a very good hypothesis."
They were silent as Elina waited for an answer. "Well?" she asked pulling her wrist from his gloved hand.
"That will be revealed once I know for sure."
She scowled just about ready to punch this man she had vaguely known for eight years.
"B-but," he said lifting both hands in defense. "You are more than likely something like me."
She fixed her scowl and now gave an expression of confusion. "A wisp hunter?"
He chuckled. "I have told you what I am, have I not?"
"Yes," she sighed. "Something called an Iris. You help keep the manifestation of dark human emotions in check."
He gave her a pat on the head and stood up once again. "That's right and the only reason why I had initially approached you in the first place was because I thought you maybe a threat to an Iris but you are obviously not." he watched her expression turn from confusion to a nonchalant facade. "Now don't pout about us being apart for another year."
She cringed. "I am not pouting."
He nodded his head and picked up his hat as he ignored her. "Yes, yes." he paused. "By the way has anyone like me approached you before?"
She quickly shook her head at the question he asked every time he saw her.
"Good," he smiled putting on his hat. "You know what to do if one does?"
She nodded her head. "Feed a wisp to a wisp and let it run free."
He gave an unpleasant smile. "That's a good girl, now until next time Ms. Elina."
She let out another sigh and turned her attention to the window knowing very well that if she were to come across and Iris like Neto she would most definitely not tell him about it. Maybe another Iris would in fact help her even more than Neto.
