I raised my long metal stabber into the air, a light reflection of the Kepller shined on the sharp object.

"The Sundarus Empire will fight!" The grand marshal shouted

And just like that, the battle began. Soldiers from each side started flying in each other's direction, with the open, grassy field making it easy to spot enemies. I furiously flapped my wings forward, directly engaging with the Zawte Kingdom troops. Arrows and spears whizzed past me, and I could see canons coming my direction. Quickly, I shifted to the right just as the giant cannonball blew up next to me, feathers of fallen soliders flew in all direction.

The blast exploded right behind me, the red fireballs illuminated the green skies as it grew smaller and smaller, a result of me falling to the ground. In mid fall, I managed to gain control of flight. The chants of war grew louder and louder as we got closer and closer to the Zawte troops. Thousands of Sundarun flocks dove into the sea of Zawte archers, and realizing they had little melee, they helplessly tried to fly away.

"Attack attack, attack!" the grand marshal yelled

I locked onto a fleeing Zawte archer. I flew right into him and made a quick motion with my stabber. The archer shrieked and fell to the ground. Suddenly, a Zawte Melee troop rammed me with a shield.

"You... Get off!" I struggled to shout amidst my panic

I latched onto the shield and swung my sword right at the troop's claw. Upon grabbing the shield, I hit the troop right in his head. The troop was knocked unconscious, and fell with a thump on the ground. Most of the melee and ranged troops were retreating, so the grand marshal commanded us to dive right into the Zawte fortress. I could hear the screams of the civilians in the fortress as we approached. To my surprise, the army was met with no retaliation. As I landed onto the rocky bastions of the fortress, blue flags and feathers burst out of the windows, signaling surrender.

"An easy win for the Sundarus Empire!" The grand marshal cheered

Applause of the soldiers followed, with fellow Sundaruns furiously clacking their beaks. Maybe the Sundarus Empire really was an unstoppable force. Only time will tell. For now, I will serve my contribution to the expansion of the glorious empire I served for.
