In Bani Shams.
The day passed and the evening came. Mohab returned to his tribe, but he was not spared from the reproach and blame from his father.
The older man spoke. “I sent you to save your tribe and to find them an oasis to save them from perishing. And I found you breaking yourself into a fight for the sake of Rammah Ibn Qais! We would deserve the oasis, Mohab! Since you fought with Shaddad and triumphed over him after defeating Rammah, why didn't you stay there and summon us!?”
Mohab replied, “this is not of my nature, Dad.”
“What nature and principles you are talking about? Wasn’t it the people of Bani Al-Najm who repeatedly expelled us from oases where we had previously settled? Listen, son. This is a matter of life and death. It is a war of survival, and I do not want you to repeat this act again. Neither do I want you to ratify or talk to any of the sons of Bani Al-Najm or Bani Al-badr! You know exactly the agreement that we have concluded together.”
What a miserable agreement it is that only allows leaders to talk and meet, and we are forbidden to do so.
“My son, this is an issue that began in an old war, and if it were not for this agreement, we would not have saved our blood until now, but we come close to being extinct because of disputes and wars.”
“I do not like war and blood, and I will not lead you for that, Dad... I will not.”
Mohab left his father’s tent with fury in his steps. He was received by Dirgham where he repined in anger and as he walked
“As if I do not know that the cause of this conflict is my great-grandfather, Salama the First! Let's train, Dirgham.”
“I apologize, sir. I am exhausted and need a rest. I see that you need to go to your tent and you must.”
Dirgham stopped his speech when Mohab looked at him angrily. And he left after signaling him to go.
