"Feeling better?" Jumin asked Parker, handing him a mug full of tea.
Parker wrapped his hands around the mug and blew hot liquid. "Yeah," Parker sniffed and took a sip from his coffee. His face scrunched up and he put the mug on the table. "It's still hot," he commented as he stuck out his tongue, putting his mug on his desk.
Jumin sat next to him on his bed and ruffled his hair. "I'm glad," he smiled.
Parker turned to him and his heart skipped a beat when he saw his genuine smile. "What was that?" Parker wondered as he felt his face heating up.
Jumin looked down at the ground as his eyebrows knitted together. "Does Skylar know about it?"
"Kinda," Parker replied as he picked on his shirt. "He said the same thing that you said to me. He also doesn't want to force me to say things that are uncomfortable for me. I still need to talk to him about it, but I thought that it was a better idea to tell you first about it."
"So he wanted to tell me first about it?" Jumin thought. "We're finally making some progress here."
"I didn't want anyone to know about it," Parker spoke. "It's more like..." Parker thought how he could phrase his words. "I always felt that I'm not supposed to talk about my problems because I'm like a side character. You know? Someone that you can forget about when you don't give them enough screen time. They could tell you about their problems, but everyone would forget about them since they're not important. Something like that."
"That's some way to put it," Jumin laughed softly. "It must've been hard to talk to someone about it, but do remember that you can talk to me about it now. You can share every little struggle with me."
"Even my game struggles?" Parker asked.
"Of course," he chuckled and tried to stop himself from grabbing Parker's hand. "I always give you a lending ear. When I'm in control of course."
"Thank you," Parker beamed and averted his eyes shyly. "Can I hug you?"
Jumin covered his mouth with his gist to hold back his laughter. "Why are you asking? Normally, you'd just go for it. What's the change?" He smirked.
"Shut up!" Parker shouted, feeling his face redden out of embarrassment. He glared playfully at Jumin and hugged him. Jumin also wrapped his arms around him and they sat there in comfortable silence until the door of Parker's room burst open.
"Hey Parker, what are you-" Benjamin stared at them as Parker and Jumin looked at him, both with a shocked expression on her face. "Oh. Am I interrupting something? I'll be downstairs when you're done," he said and closed the door.
Parker turned to Jumin with bulging eyes as Jumin began laughing. "This is so stupid!" He laughed.
Parker watched Jumin laugh as awe crossed his face. "I need to make him laugh like this more," he thought, putting it as a mental note.
"Aren't you going after him?" Jumin asked Parker.
Parker's eyes widened and ran out of his room, going down the stairs. Jumin glanced at the mugs on Parker's desk and a pleasing smile became visible on his face.
"What the frick dad?" Parker shouted as he walked to the kitchen.
"Hm? Oh, Parker," Benjamin laughed. "What were you two trying to do up there?" Benjamin shook his head. "I'd rather not know. You two can keep it to yourselves," he laughed and winked at Parker.
"What? What're you talking about?" Parker asked as he cocked his head to the side.
"Of course you dumbass wouldn't," Benjamin sighed out of disappointment. "You're too naive and innocent for that."
"What do you keep talking- Oh." Benjamin began laughing uncontrollably, slapping the table as Parker tried to calm him down. "It isn't what you think! I... just told him about mom," he mumbled.
"About what?"
"Mom!"
Benjamin's laughing immediately stopped and his expression hardened. "Did you see her today?"
Parker nodded. "Nothing happened. But I felt like it was a good idea to tell him."
"Hey, Park! When did I get here?" They heard Kyung yell as ran to the kitchen. Kyung stood up straight and grinned at them. "Hey, Ben. What's up?"
"Doing good," Benjamin grinned. "You?"
"Same here," Kyung replied.
Parker turned to Benjamin. "Tell me when dinner is ready. We'll be in my room."
"Okay," he replied, still a little skeptical.
"We'll be back," Parker said and pushed Kyung out of the kitchen.
"But what am I doing here?" Kyung demanded as they went back upstairs. "Are we gonna play some COD?"
"Not really. Jumin said to me that he would help me with streaming, but I have to set some things up before I can," Parker explained.
"That shit that those YouTubers do? You wanna do that too?" Kyung asked.
"It sounds fun," he replied. "And it's nice to also have some kind of other distraction."
"What do you mean? We're one of your distractions."
Parker opened the door to his room. "You guys sure are good distractions," he smiled.
"I know. And what are those mugs doing on there?" He asked as he pointed at them.
"Our tea!" Parker cried as he grabbed one of them and drank from it. "It turned lukewarm," he sighed.
"Did you make them?"
Parker shook his head. "Jumin thought that it was a good idea."
Kyung's face screwed up. "I hate tea," he complained and lay down on Parker's bed.
"I'll drink it for you then," Parker said and gulped down his cup. He exhaled as he put the mug down. He sat behind his desk and turned his computer on. "I haven't done my research yet and I think it's better to do that. Because I don't want to go into it blindly."
Kyung lifted his head and watched Parker focused on his screen as he heard the sound of the clicking of the keyboard.
Parker leaned into his chair and groaned loudly. "Pain," he whispered. "I only feel pain."
Kyung stood up and went to Parker. "What's up Park?"
"I need to prepare shit," he sighed and rested his head on his desk. "I didn't know that I'd be that much work. I can start without a mic or camera, but I think that the without mic part would be boring," he thought out loud. "I need to ask Levi about it. Or I can ask if I can join him sometime." Parker sat back up and opened discord.
"What's your plan now?" Kyung asked, looking at Parker talking to someone.
"One of my friends also streams, so I'm asking him if I can join him once," he explained. "I hope he says yes."
"Is it gonna be in English?"
"I'm afraid not. His English is very bad and we only communicate in Dutch," Parker replied and grinned at the screen. "He said that it's fine and that he wants to do it Wednesday." Reality dawned upon Parker. "Oh shit. I need to prepare. I need to buy a mic." He turned to Kyung. "Can you please keep it a secret from Jumin?"
"Why?" Kyung asked.
"I want to surprise him with this!" He grinned. "Please?"
"Fine," Kyung sighed.
"Yes!" Parker turned back to his computer. "Now, which of these mics should I buy?"
