I can see why you bumping against the deadline; that was one long satisfying update!
I like the shadowing in the porch scene. :-)
It's heartbreaking about Mike. Listening to him you get this sense that he's a dyed-in-the-wool criminal.
Look deeper and there's a possible learning disorder, probable behavior disorder, cognitive disorder. But you can tell he's "normal bright".
Take the same Mike package and have it incarnate into a place of means and opportunities, and you'd get a guy that could do well in some conventional career track.
Ach, here I am acting like a fan-girl trying to save favorite characters!
Skippy, I'm glad you let us see the title of the book Rip is reading. Whether randomly assigned or thoughtfully assigned, Rip can probably relate a lot more to this book than say, Catcher In the Rye.
Rip Vasquez, recently released from a Juvenile Detention Facility into the care of his estranged father, strikes up a relationship with fellow jailbird Mike Donovan. A romance/drama focusing on the intimate aspects of love and memory. Updates the 7th of every month.
TRIGGER WARNING: This comic contains regular references to abuse, casual homophobia, and substance use
