Cosmo, Cooki, Yuji, and Sara are hanging in the third grade hallway. They’re thinking hard, trying to figure out which teacher will help support the K-Squad group.
Cosmo sighs, crossing his arms. “This is no good… We gave our opinions on every third grade teachers, and we all came to an agreement that none of them wouldn’t be a good pick,” he says. “Not even my sister’s and I teacher isn’t a good pick either,” He shakes with frustration. “This is seriously giving me a headache! How can it be this hard just to find a teacher to help us?”
Yuji softly pats Cosmo’s back trying to calm down his friend. “Relax, Cosmo,” he softly says. “I know you want to get this group up and going, but we have to be patient.”
“Yuji’s right, Cosmo,” Sara says. “If we rush these type of things. It won’t be the way we wanted it to be.”
“I think the best thing to do for now we should be watching our backs instead of worrying about a teacher supporter at the moment,” Cooki says, “Remember, we’re on the Cadets Freaks and the Diamond Brat’s number one wanted list!” she explains. “Besides, I don’t think it’s the best idea right now to be discussing something important like this in the hallways!” She looks around. “They can be anywhere, having spies in our hallways or they’re hiding somewhere!”
Cosmo, Cooki, Yuji, and Sara have a concerned look on their faces. They look around, making sure no one’s listening to a single word that came from the mouths. Most of the third graders are just chatting away with each other, and others are relaxing, waiting for their teachers to arrive.
“Let’s just try to do our best! We can’t have the Diamond Sisters or the Cadets putting fear into us now can we?” Sara smiles. “Even if they did spy on us, we’ll be ready for anything they got!”
Cooki grins. “I like your attitude, Sara!” She says. “Anyways, class is about to start, so Cosmo and I will catch you two later during recess!”
The bell rings for the third time letting all of the students know it’s time for class. Cosmo and Cooki wave at Yuji and Sara before they head straight inside their class where they took their seats. The two fo them along with the rest of the students in their class. They all wait patiently for their homeroom teacher to appear. However, after a couple of minutes of waiting, he’s nowhere to be found.
The kids in Cosmo and Cooki’s class all begin chatting away, taking advantage that their teacher isn’t around.
Suddenly a door opens, catching Cosmo, Cooki and the rest of the class’s attention. “Sorry, I’m late, class! I’ve kind of got lost trying to find my new room!” a male's voice says. Suddenly, a light brown skinned man who’s about six feet tall, wearing a brown button up vest with a handkerchief in its right pocket, a white undershirt under his vest, wearing reading glasses, brown khakis, light brown dress shoes, and had short dark brown hair.
Cosmo, Cooki and the rest of the students are confused on what’s going on. Seeing that this isn’t their homeroom teacher, leaving the class a bit nervous.
“Um, excuse me, mister, but who are you?” a ginger hair third grader girl questions the man. “What happened to Mr. Phillips?”
The man smiles as he walks to his desk, putting his bag on the floor. “Your old teacher quit, due to immature reasons,” he explains. “They needed a quick replacement, and luckily I was around! So for now on; I am going to be your new homeroom teacher!” He smiles as he grabs the marker and writes his name on the board. “My name is… Pro-fes-sor John-son! There we go! Professor Johnson is my name, teaching my students is my game!”
“Professor Johnson?” a boy says. “Why your name is Professor Johnson instead of Mr. Johnson?”
Professor Jonson smiles. “Good question! I love it when students ask me this question!” he says, “I graduated from college, earning the second highest degree in the teaching! It allows me to use the name “Professor” instead of “Mr.” He looks outside. “I use to teach high, and upper-level students, but I wanted to teach kids in elementary school because I thought it would be more fun!”
Professor Johnson took notice of some of the students in class whispering to each other seeing the smiles on their faces, while some others felt not too sure about the Professor. He also took notice that some students are carrying Nerf guns and water pistols in their pockets. “Interesting… So these students are also carrying toy guns as well? Just like those boys and girls wearing camouflage uniforms when I was heading to this classroom.” He says in his thoughts. “So, before we get started my fellow English muffins! I want to get to know my students just like you’re getting to know me!” He sits in the chair grinning at his students. “So, who’s first?”
All of a sudden, students got up from their seats and begin to ask Professor Johnson rather than easy and simple questions. It brings a look of joy on his face seeing that his students like him sooner than he thought they would.
Cosmo looks at his new teacher’s facial expressions, the way he interacts with the students in the classroom, his positive attitude making the kids in his class trust him easily. He took the notice that Professor Johnson’s looking at him from the side his eye showing a little smile waving at Cosmo. It causes him to turn his head away. “Cooki!” He quietly calls out to her sister.
“Hm? What’s up, bro-bro?” Cooki asks Cosmo.
“I think this Professor Johnson; dude might be the person we’re looking for!” Cosmo explains to his sister.
Cooki raises an eyebrow. “Why do you say that?”
Cosmo takes a glimpse at the professor then back at Cooki. “I’m just getting this gut feeling… Maybe he can help us set up the K-Squad group and be the teacher we can trust!” he explains. “I can’t put my finger on it, but I just think he’s the one!”
Professor Johnson notices Cosmo secretly exchanging words with his twin sister causing him to grin. “It seems that we have a little secretive talker in the back of the class.” He says pointing at Cosmo causing him to freeze in place.
“Oh, fruit loops!” Cosmo says in his thoughts.
“Oh, don’t be shy now!” Professor Johnson says chuckling at Cosmo’s reaction. “Come on and introduce yourself to me.”
Cosmo blushes to see all eyes are all on him and there isn’t anything he couldn’t do about it. “Like I have a choice…” he mumbles before getting up from his desk. “My name is Cosmo Ferrendi or as some of the kids know me as the new kid!” He points to Cooki. “This right here is my twin sister, Cooki! We’re the Ferrendi twins!”
Cooki nervously chuckles as she waves at Professor Johnson. “H-Hello!”
Professor Johnson nods his head having his hand on his chin. “Oh, you two are twins?” He questions Cosmo and Cooki, “That’s simply fascinating! I rarely ever get to see twins, let alone have them in my class!” He smirks. “I see you two have blue hair as well? Therefore I shall call you two… blueberry muffins!” He chuckles.
“Blueberry muffins!?” Cosmo and Cooki yell.
The class laughs at the nickname; Professor Johnson gives to Cosmo and Cooki leaving the twins speechless.
“Oh, relax you two! It’s just a rather joke!” Professor Johnson chuckles. “Even us, adults need to have fun once in a while!”
“Oh, joy.” Cosmo softly says.
Cooki chuckles nervously. “Good one? I guess?”
During recess time. Cosmo and Cooki, met up with Yuji, Jessica, and Sara as the twins begin to explain to their friends about their new teacher.
“So, you two think that this Professor Johnson is the right teacher that will support the K-Squad?” Sara asks, Cosmo and Cooki.
Yuji rocks back and forth looking at Cosmo. “Are you sure we can trust him?” He asks Cosmo. “He sounds like a nice guy, but what if he’s a spy?”
Cosmo chuckles at Yuji’s question as he wraps his arm around Yuji. “Believe me… If my guts told me not to trust him, then I wouldn’t be mentioning him to you guys right now!” He then begins walking to the door about to head inside the school. “Come on! Let’s go ask him!”
Cooki, Yuji, Jessica, and Sara follow along with Cosmo. The four of them head inside the school, wandering in the hallways, noticing it’s complete silence as all of them had their guards up, walking slowly just in case if they have run into the Diamond Sisters or the Cadets in the hallways.
“Here we are!” Cosmo says grinning standing in front of his home classroom, “Let’s hope for the best!” He knocks on Professor Johnson’s door. “Hello, Professor! Are you there? My friends and I want to talk to you!”
Cosmo, Cooki, Yuji, Jessica, and Sara enter the classroom seeing a happy Professor hanging up the decoration of colorful cards of ways on how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. They see reading quotes from famous people writers, pictures of men and women who change the world and made history, and even funny science puns.
“Hello, my two blueberry muffins!” Professor Johnson waves at his two students as he takes notice of Yuji, Jessica, and Sara. “I see you brought friends of yours.” He gets off the stepladder and bows in respect. “I am Professor Johnson! I am Cosmo and Cooki’s new teacher!”
Yuji and Sara smile as they wave at Professor Johnson. “Hello!” They both say.
Jessica bows to the Professor right back. “It’s an honor to meet you, Professor Johnson!”
“Professor… can we ask you something really important?” Cooki says.
“We want you to help us with the K-Squad!” Cosmo says.
Professor Johnson raises an eyebrow. “K-Squad?” He says confusingly
“Allow me!” Sara says stepping into the conversation, “You see, Professor. We have been dealing with these three girls known as the Diamond Sisters. They’re the ones who rule the school!” She explains going deeper about them. They rule the school and send most kids into fear! No grades trust each other, kids tattle on one another to save themselves!
Professor Johnson chuckles under his breath a bit. “Oh, really now?”
Jessica nods. “Yes… Theirs this group is as well known as the Cadet Army! They’re the lackeys of the Diamond Sisters that do their dirty work!” She explains, “We all been fighting this long battle now, but maybe we can put it to end thanks to Cosmo and Cooki helping us out!” She turns around then back at Professor Johnson. “That’s why as the leader of the first graders! I want you to help us out! The K-Squad needs you, Professor Johnson!
Professor Johnson grins putting his hand under his chin. “An interesting story, you four little muffins!” “Ah, kids and their little imaginations! I remember when I was young playing silly games with my friends with a stick as magic wands and trying to stop the root of evil! Such nostalgic memories! I guess I can play along and “help out” He chuckles to himself.
“W-well?” Yuji stutters trying to form words.
“Professor?” Cooki calls out to her teacher.
“I’ve decided… that I will help the K-Squad out!” Professor Johnson tells Cosmo and his friends, “As of today, I will be your teacher supporter for the K-Squad, and this room will be your little hideout!
Sara's face went into an exciting expression as she jumps in the air for joy. “ALRIGHT!”
Yuji sighs and smiles. “That’s score one for us!”
“Shh…” Professor says calmly, “Remember, muffins, this is a “secret” hideout for you guys to use!” He explains. “You don’t want the Diamond Sisters or those silly Cadets knowing right?”
Sara then covers her mouth real quick. “Oh, butter biscuits! You’re right!”
Professor Johnson playfully chuckles patting Sara on her head. “Nothing wrong with getting excited, kids! Sometimes we all explode with happiness when things go the way you want!” He says. “But I just want to let you know that I will not be participating in any actions that you kids do!” He looks out of the window and sees kids playing. “I am an adult now, and you already know my young youth came to an end a long time ago. However, that doesn’t mean I can’t help you out on the sidelines!
Cooki smirks as she smashes her left hand into her other hand. “That’s good enough for us! Those Diamond Brats and Cadet idiots won’t know what will hit them!”
“So what’s the plan for now guys?” Jessica questions her friends.
Cosmo smirks as he walks near to the door. “How about, the last one to the playground is a chicken butt!” He yells as he opens the door and runs out of the room.
“Hey!!!” Cooki, Sara, Yuji, and Jessica all yell running out the door chasing after Cosmo as well.
While the K-Squad celebrates on getting a teacher to help, they don’t notice that Love and Valetina are listening to their conversation near the left side of Professor Johnson’s classroom door, watching Cosmo and his friends running outside to the playground.
Love evilly chuckles. “Just, wait until we tell the Diamond Sisters about this!”
Valentina smirks. “Indeed! I don’t know what those brats are too, but it’s going to stop before it starts!”
