4. "You're probably wondering what it is about my parents, and why they don't want us in the public with our telekinesis power like the other kids, well, it's time I tell you, let me tell you what else this strange power has to bring."
Back In 2005…
On their way home from a work meeting of theirs, which is very common for them to do. James and Melissa arrive at their big brown mansion. Pulling up to their decorated lawn in their prestigious gated neighborhood.
Here in Leroy City, there is a neighborhood for families with this power, with the power officially being given the name Arkemia.
James and Melissa work with the LRX, since almost everyone in this city does, and it's a part of their job to watch, test, and take care of these kids, well, they adopted a few of those kids, given the idea by fellow co worker Jinn Marshon.
They specifically adopted these kids, due to their parents death from a plane crash, and their parents worked with them, so, for James and Melissa, it was the perfect opportunity to take them in.
But...
Maybe they got more than what they bargained for…
Running down the steep stairs after Astrid, Victor follows her to their family room, where Arrow is sitting in there, unbothered while by himself.
"I'm only a kid! Victor, just like you, I don't know how I did that?"
"Astrid, I saw you mold into some...Blob thing!"
"Oh, did you? Well you still haven't explained to me your lightning moves yet, have you?"
"My lightning moves?"
"Yes, outside yesterday when you were playing ball with dad and Arrow, and you just..."
"That was part of the telekinesis or whatever, I was still catching the ball." "No, Victor, there was something more to that!"
As they are arguing, Valencia comes downstairs saying, "I knew you were still yelling at Victor about this nonsense, I was outside with them and didn't see anything strange, he's just very fast, it's like saying that I have some superpower because of my flexibility..."
"Yeah, that too Valencia, can't you guys see something wrong with that? How did you twist your body to a 360 view like that, huh."
"I don't know, maybe telekinesis?"
"That isn't telekinesis!"
Meanwhile, their maid Shelly and butler Frederick are looking around at them in the background, but then Maximus runs downstairs saying, "guys, what's going on?" Looking dishuffled and tired.
"What's wrong with you?" Valencia says.
"It's Celsius, well, him and Melodie, he keeps saying that he's scared of something under his bed, but I can't see what's scaring him."
He starts breathing heavily, with him taking out his inhaler due to his asthma.
Valencia runs upstairs, as they all follow her.
Busting open Celsius's closed door, they see him in a fetal position on the corner of his bed. His head down completely, all you can see is his long white hair covering his face.
"See! I don't know what's wrong with him?" Maximus complains.
Victor walks in the room saying, "yo dude, what's wrong with you, huh?"
Celsius doesn't move, not even an inch.
"I've been trying to ask him what's wrong, but, everytime I try to get to him, I make it worse, I don't know why but, I think I saw something, I was just trying to ask him what's wrong...But, it was like I was the one making him more afraid, like I was telling him what to do even though I was just..."
"Melodie, you're making no sense as usual." Astrid walks over to Celsius, and yanks him out of his bed, somehow, causing Melodie to fall over, backing up against Maximus, who then teleports away from them into the hallway.
"How did you do that?" Valencia questions, as they all see Max standing in the hallway, all amazed.
"Ow...! What was that?!" Melodie shouts.
"What? I didn't hit you?" Astrid says confused, as Victor holds on to Celsius, holding his head saying, "dude, wake up! What's going on, you have to tell us."
Celsius starts opening his eyes slowly, then he lets go of Victor, running out of his room, standing by the stairs as he catches his breath instead.
"What's going on right now?" Valencia says, putting her hands up to her head.
"Guys, I think I just teleported," Maximus walks back and forth, confused, saying, "I mean, since when can I teleport?? I...Don't even know how I did that??"
"Guys...I think our powers are just...Malfunctioning." Victor says.
"Malfunctioning..?" Melodie questions.
"If that's the case then why are different things happening to us? Like how come Max just teleported and Melodie thinks she just controlled someone?"
"Ugh, why can't you just calm down and fall asleep right now."
"Really Victor? That's really messed up on you to make fun of my narcolepsy."
"Guys! I just teleported, I'm gonna see if I can do it again." Maximus teleports again, but downstairs, in front of maid Shelly.
"Ah!! Max? Did you just??"
"Yes, I just teleported, I don't know what's going on?" He tries to calm Shelly down, which she does as she immensely wonders what is going on.
"Where's Cora...?" Celsius whispers finally.
"Dude, what did you see in your room?" Victor keeps questioning him.
"I saw...A person, a little girl, under my bed, but, no one else can see her apparently, because when Melodie and Max came in, they couldn't see her, but I still did...And then Melodie tried to help me, but, it was like she was, you know, making it worse...?"
"So...This house is haunted?" Valencia questions. "I don't think it's the house that's the issue, and it's so messing with me, my head is just pounding, all I was doing was playing my game and it just appeared, then it went under my bed."
Celsius sits down by the stairs, but Victor sits him up saying, "okay, let's all go to the living room, we need to talk about all this craziness our power is doing."
"Valencia?" She runs up to him saying sweetly, "yes, Victor?"
"Can you get Cora from her room, we need to talk about this before mom and dad get home."
"Of course."
Now coming down the stairs, you can see a trail of some sort of black liquid, each puddle treading towards the living room.
"What is this coming from me?" Astrid complains, as she lifts up her baggy pants, seeing the liquid form from under her skin.
She gets up quickly as Victor walks downstairs saying, "and this is from telekinesis??"
"No, maybe it's from your clothing, that all black attire of yours is probably not holding well anymore."
"Let's be honest, that would only happen to Melodie, not Astrid," Celsius replies, "I just want that little demon out of my room!"
"Why don't you guys care that I can teleport?" Maximus asks.
Melodie sits beside Celsius on the chair as Victor and Astrid continue to argue.
"Oh, so I'm being dramatic, all that is happening to us is over the top? Huh? How? Victor."
"Because we already have powers, there is nothing more to this, okay." Valencia chimes in saying, "my flexibility may be much but surely it is ordinary for people with true talent, becoming a dancer takes flexibility."
"That's not what I'm talking about!"
*Clack*
Arrow closes his book shut, keeping everyone silent, as they all look at him, he casually gets up from the sofa and puts the book away, all while putting on the fireplace as well.
Staring at it as it flames before them, Arrow turns his head to see them side-eye, then he says to them, "so, you guys know about your extra powers now, don't you?"
He precedes to chuckle at them, then continues while walking over to them saying, "we all have superpowers, but we each have a side dish with our main course, you see, we, for a reason I assume, have actual, personal powers, and I have known that since I was five, I just kept it too myself, taunting you guys with that personal trauma I assume, but coming from very different backgrounds, it's hard to tell how it came forth, why we are we the only ones with extra abilities?"
Arrow walks into the kitchen, with their chef Michael saying, "even our servants don't know, neither do our parents." Then he takes a sip of his water.
Astrid walks over to him saying, "what exactly are our powers...? I want to know exactly what I'm living with, like this ink crap or whatever that's coming out of me."
Arrow smirks within his lips again, looking at them directly this time, he says to them, "I have the ability of sensing the secrets of human nature, as all of you, I can tell that none of us are truly getting along, and that you Astrid are missing your sister, Victor and Valencia, you guys treat each other better because you find comfort within yourselves, Maximus, you're a loner, and want to be left alone, Melodie, you're the opposite, Celsius you are emotionally disturbed and Cora is ordinary, at least, to me it's this way."
He walks again into the living room saying, "when mom and dad come back home, I'll have them figure everything out, but for now, I suggest we all go back to our normal estranged ways, and keep our mouths from moving in the faces of ones who do not want to obviously be bothered."
Then he takes a seat on the sofa again, looking to the fireplace quietly.
Then Victor says to him, "so, you know human nature and not our exact powers huh?"
Arrow turns to him saying, "I said, I'll tell you guys when mother and father arrive, what about that didn't you understand.”
"Whatever Arrow." Victor says, walking away from him.
They all sit around the kitchen and living room, with Melodie saying, "wait? What about Cora? Does she have power?"
They all look to Cora, as she continues to sit, with her headphones on, writing and drawing as usual, with maid Shelly watching over her.
Then the front door jiggles open and James and Melissa walk in, with them walking in on the kids, looking at them with smiles, only but for James to realize that something seems off, the lights in the house start flickering on and off, causing James to say, "what's going on here?"
"Yes, why is there purple ink on the floor, Ms. Shelly!" Melissa shouts, "please come clean this up."
"Yes ma'am." She answers back.
They turn to the kids again, with them all looking guilty at them, then James precedes to say, "what did you guys do?"
Astrid walks over to them saying, "I think we have more power than we thought we did, not just telekinesis, but other things..."
"Other...Powers?" Melissa says, looking at James in a confused but shocked face.
Then James says sternly, "I think it's about time to tell you guys about the Blossoming Program."
