PLACE: School in Nassau

"C'mon, Jewels! We're getting lunch, wanna join?" 

Julie turned to see two girls that she knew from around school. Their names were Sandi and Lous. They had been nice to her since she moved almost a year ago. 

"Uhm, sure!" Julie smiled and followed her new friends to the small cafe near the school. They sat down and ordered, Julie still getting used to Caribbean food, and started chatting.

"Did you see Andre look at me today? He's so hot..."

"No way on earth did Andre even notice you, Sandi."

Julie smiled as they talked. She didn't know who Andre was, but she realized she never thought about boys. Maybe because she was only eleven, but even when a boy would talk to her, she wouldn't react like Sandi or Lous, she'd just talk like she would to her friends. Her friends called her odd, teasingly, and Julie honestly agreed. She didn't know exactly how, but she felt it. She was odd.
