I shook my head in resignation.
The guard turned to the Prince, "Your Highness, I am so sorry! This should have never happened!"
The Prince smiled at him, "Don't worry, Rafael. You did a good job."
He then turned to me with a frown, "Why is this guy still here?"
Rafael shrugged, "That is beyond me. The Majesty told me to bring him."
The King clapped his hands twice. Both the Prince and Rafael stood at attention immediately.
The King said, "Great work, Rafael. I will have to make sure the security in the palace is tightened."
He turned to me and smiled, "This is our new tactician, Laevatein". He narrowed his eyes, "You appear different from the profile I recieved."
I frowned, "What are you talking about? My name is Ethan."
He scratched his chin, "Really? Maybe this is part of your tactical ability as well."
I opened my mouth to say the truth. But then I realized that would be stupid. I really didn't want to go back into that disgusting dungeon.
"Uh... yeah! This is all part of my um... superior tactics!"
My conversation levels were the worst even when I didn't have to lie through my teeth in a different world...
The King looked at me suspiciously but didn't say anything else. The Prince stood with his mouth gaping wide open, "This is the new tactician?!"
The King smiled, "Yes. Laevatein—Ahem—Ethan will be our new tactician starting today. He was the only one who could pass the test others couldn't."
The Prince growled, "And what the hell kind of test was that?!"
The King looked sternly at the Prince, "I would suggest you tone down your voice, Lionel."
"But Father—"
"Silence!" the King slammed his fist down on the throne, causing a booming sound. Lionel fell quiet.
"Good," the King continued, "The test was to infiltrate the inner parts of the castle without detection. And Ethan performed admirably."
I blinked a couple times to clear my head. This was surreal. I racked my head to try to think of what the original game was. All the characters and environments looked familiar, but I bought it on impulse and forgot about it. I remembered for sure that one of the elements was Harem, but I didn't remember anything about—
"This fool?!" Lionel looked at me angrily.
I definitely don't remember anything about a Prince with attitude issues.
"What?" I snapped back at him.
The guard, Rafael, stood in front of the Prince protectively, "How dare you talk to His Highness that way?!"
I glared back, "I've had the worst day today! First I get thrown in a dungeon for nothing I did! Next, I have to endure being insulted by you two!"
Rafael opened his mouth to reply, but the King put his hand up.
"I will not entertain this foolish display. Rafael, please find a decent quarters for our esteemed guest. And you, Lionel."
Lionel glared at the King, "What?"
"Stop behaving childishly and learn to co-operate. It will help you in the future."
Lionel angrily huffed and left the room. What a child.
Rafael shook his head and looked at me, "I will escort you to the quarters."
We walked out of one of the dozen doors in the throne room to a large hallway. We kept walking ad walking.
"Urgh... why does this place have to be so big?!"
Rafael shook his head, "I noticed this before as well, but you are truly unathletic."
"Urk... I'm not unathletic, I just really hate exercise."
"So... lazy, then?"
"Hey!"
Finally, after an eternity of walking, we came to a stop in front of a door.
"These are your quarters," he said.
"Thanks," I replied. The guy may be annoying, but at least he didnt just dump me in a ditch or something.
His face grew stony, "Don't even think of trying something. You may have fooled His Majesty, but I am onto you. Make even a slight move against him and I will end you."
...Nevermind. This guy was the worst!
