The next day they continued on their journey. While Wouldwolk was a nice place, Night’s real destination was Blizzton. A huge city surrounded by an endless snowstorm all year round. Infinity seemed to be a common theme of the city, since it’s University could take infinite students (no one really knew how though), the only physical portal to the famous endless library, a well, endless library in a place outside their multiverse, Blizzton’s catacombs probably weren’t endless, but no one had found an end to them yet and there was no record of its founding anywhere, suggesting it had been there for all of time, not even once conquered or crushed by the snowstorm, any empire or anything else for that matter. The person she was supposed to meet waited in her car on the edge of the Blizzard. The tube around the streets that led into the city started just behind it. “Leonore!” The half gnome greeted them. “Actually it’s Night now.” “Oh. Well let’s start over then: Night!” “Nova!” “So good to see you again old friend.” “You don’t seem to have aged a bit.” “Well, perk of being part vampire, I guess. Or a time traveller. Probably both.” Nova pushed up her glasses. Dressed all in black and with her raven hair she would have seemed to come from one of those black and white films, if her eyes didn’t have a purple glow to them. “So, when have you been recently?” “Ah, you know, nothing too big. I just met some of the best scientists of their time. I mean Blizzton has been a magnet for science people for ages.” “By the way, couldn't you figure out when it was founded?” “Nople. I can only go about 13000 years back. No way of bringing a time machine back to before it was built. That’s why I don’t use the one I built, but the one that’s been in my family for generations.” “I see.” “So, while I have stayed at one point in space but hopped around in time, you’ve surely been in some interesting places.” “Well, I’ve been in the rain forests in the south, visiting a town of snake people, I’ve travelled the aquarian kingdom, stayed with a group of blood elfs in the mountains of the east, visited a commune of dwarfs in the far north and then a group of gnomes in the farther north and then I decided that I needed some warmth and a good party so I visited a demon friend of mine in the underworld, before making a stop at Wouldwolk and coming here.” “Interesting. Come on, hop in the car, we’ll been in Blizzton in half an hour if everything goes well.” “It’s will be.” “Sorry, just finished my new novel on time travel, and I think I kind of confused myself.” “Oh, you’re writing again?” “Yup. I got a bit bored with science only. So I went back to writing.”

The rest of the drive was a long discussion on literature. Eventually they arrived at Nova’s apartment. “I put some vanilla milk in the fridge before I came to pick you up. I’ll just get it.”

-Vanilla

-Sugar

-Milk

How to:

-Warm up the milk (Do not let it boil)

-Put in the vanilla and the sugar

-Stir for a while

-Cool down and enjoy
