Theon sat up from his resting position on the bed, alerted by the scent that caused his blood to boil and his temper to run hot.
Asher back to his timid self once again as he came to Theon's room with dinner. Gloomy eyes not looking up from the tray in his hands as he walked it over to the table.
"Where the fuck is he?" Growled Theon, standing moving towards the door.
"Stop." Cried Asher, reaching out for Theon, grabbing a hold of his arm.
"It's not worth it. I told you before it wasn't going to last."
It hurt Asher to say that but he had warned Theon. Shaw would always have his way.
However that didn't stop him from getting his own hopes up that Shaw wouldn't mark him again. It had been so long since the last time he had done it that he thought maybe he was over the whole arrangement. Having grown bored of his torment over him, or at least maybe thought he had done enough damage to keep Asher complacent without the marking.
"It's not worth it my ass it isn't." Commented Theon, anger in his voice.
"Theon." Asher spoke more firmly, "I shouldn't have . . . " The words getting caught in his throat, "I knew it was wrong the moment it started and I still let myself do it. I'm weak. I'm a terrible omega. It's my fault, blame me."
Asher should have never let himself or Theon feel anything towards one another. He knew it would always lead to something like this.
Shaw always came out on top.
Letting Theon explore whatever feelings he may or may not have for him would only lead to pain, just like it was right now.
"No one should blame you for anything, you didn't choose to be here. You didn't agree for him to take control over you like that. He had no right to mark you as his ever." Theon growling in hate for Shaw.
Pissed that Asher was blaming himself for everything that had happened between them.
"Even now, it's' still against your will. Those feelings towards Shaw are false. Only there because he wants them to be there, that's why he marked you to control you. They don't mean anything."
Asher felt attacked with Theon's words, that his feelings weren't valid or cared about in his anger.
Just because the feelings weren't ones he chose to have didn't mean he still didn't have them or felt the way he did about Shaw. A bond was still made between them if he liked it or not.
"Still it doesn't change anything."
Asher turned his head up looking at Theon, pulling out the last bit of confidence he had in him.
"Shaw made me his and that's just something I have to live with."
His little bit of confidence drained as he spoke.
"Just focus on your last fight and then you'll be out of here for good. No need to stress over me or whatever feelings you think you might have towards me."
Asher tried to play down the connection the two of them felt for each other.
"I'm sure your feelings will quickly come to change." Asher felt the tears gathering in his eyes, "I'm not the mate for you."
Asher quickly closed the door behind before Theon got a chance to get another word in.
The tears poured from him as he covered his face making it down the hall to the bathroom as fast as he could. His heart felt like it was being ripped out of his chest.
He was the one that put himself in this situation to begin with. He should have never looked for anything from Theon, it was strictly meant to be work only. He was to care for his wounds and nothing more.
The rage was flowing hard through Theon as he stood there, watching Asher tear himself apart as he spoke words he clearly didn't mean. Theon saw through the front that he tried to play to him.
Guilt twisting in with the rage as he thought of his own actions. He was the one that moved first, asking for the initial kiss that led to some much more for him.
For them.
He knew better than to do something that stupid with an omega that had already been marked by another. Sure the official claim only lasted as long as the mark was on the body but he knew what Shaw's intentions were with treating Asher like that, making sure to bite him over and over.
He owned him and that thought caused Theon to only see red. Flipping the table in front of him sending it flying across the room. A heavy growl leaving his body.
Theon couldn't stand this place any longer, being here was turning him into someone he wasn't starting to recognize when he looked in the mirror.
Asher invalidated his feelings just as he did with what he felt for Shaw. Truly feeling if he was out in the normal world on any given day and crossed paths with Asher he would still feel this drawn towards him.
His sweet scent would have locked on just as it had here. If anything it would have happened sooner not being overshadowed and snuffed out by Shaw's.
