She was one of the Rare ones, so effortlessly Herself and the World loved her for it.
Grace Windsor
“Grace, are you sure about this?” Annabel calls from behind the rose room divider in my dressing room.
“Show me.”
She comes out from behind the divider, the dress is a dark rose taupe colour, almost the colour of my mother’s hair. The gown shapes around her bust and waist, revealing her perfect figure. Then it drapes down in gown fashion, a handmade rose lace pattern covers the entire gown, the lace uses pure gold thread. “Isn’t this a bit much?”
“You look absolutely magnificent.” Annabel blushes a deep pink colour, a colour nearly the same as her lips. “Gosh- I lo-” I stop myself, but barely. She just looks so amazing, just so beautiful it is astounding. The colour of the dress with her eyes and hair.
She is just so perfect, beautiful and sweet. “I just think it is too much for me. I don’t really fit it.” She fits it perfectly, and nothing is too much for her. She deserves everything that dress has to offer.
“It’s not, I can assure you. As soon as someone sees you in that they will fall in love with you immediately.” She looks down at the skirt and traces the lace, trying to ignore my words. “Well now that you have tried it on you can change.”
“Thank you.” She smiles, a sweet smile, her lips pink and soft. Perfection. “But can you come help? The clasps.”
“Sure.” I step behind the divider and start untying the ribbons, and un clasping the metal. As I do her back is completely exposed, her muscles and bones perfect and soft.
Her skin without imperfections and blemishes. No freckles, no birthmarks. Nothing but perfection. She is just so beautiful, I can’t stand it. I can’t stand not being able to touch her, to love her. She turns her head to face me and I look into her eyes, her perfect light pink eyes.
I look down at her unclasped dress and start to slide it off of her shoulder, her perfect shoulders.
“Miss. Windsor.” I jump as I hear my main servant's voice.
“Yes?” I sprint out from behind the divider.
“Your mother asked me to see if you were dressed but I see you are busy.” Oh gosh, did she see Annabel? No, she couldn’t have. But she- what if she tells my mother? Well I will be fine, I was just helping her get undressed.
“I will be ready in a few moments, just tell her that.” My servant nods and walks out the door, I only turn to Annabel when the servant’s footsteps disappear. “I apologize.” I say to Annabel after she comes out from behind the divider, in her robe and the large gown on the floor. “You should go.”
“Yeah I should probably get dressed. I assume you want me there?” Annabel’s cheeks are completely flushed and her eyes are pointed at my feet.
“Yes, come back here once you get ready. We need to talk.” She nods, her light hair shining in the window.
*A few minutes later...*
“Grace,” Annabel knocks on my door and soon after opens it.
“Annabel! Can you come help me?” She walks in to see my dress unclasped and off of my shoulders. She blushes and looks down, “If you-”
“No, it’s fine.” She walks over to me and starts to put together the metal clasps, her soft hands warm against my back. “What did you want to talk to me about?” She asks as she ties the bow behind my back.
“I want to continue being friends.” I say and Annabel seems to take in a sharp breath. “But I am going to need your word you will not attempt anything. I can’t let anything happen.”
“Yes, I assure you I won’t. I promise.” She says and finishes the bow. As I turn around I see her eyes wet.
“It’s fine, Annabel. You will get over this and everything will go back to normal.” She nods but I can tell she is lying, she is a terrible liar.
“Grace.” The door opens and in walks my mother. “I need to talk to you.” Oh gosh.
