I was in awe the moment that we stepped out of the room. My door was attached to a hallway covered in Art and everything was beautiful. Father dismissed Richardson and after a few moments of walking, he stopped. He looked at me with curiosity and spoke “This really is the first time you have been out of that room. You are going to learn that the world is a bigger place and it is a lot more dangerous. You must remember that if you want to survive. There is one place I will take you before I take you to your room. They won’t mind because you are mine.”
The way he looked at me when he said Mine made me unsure and I felt like I was a doll.
After a while he took us to a large door and as he opened it I looked away as the sun shined brightly into our eyes. Once my eyes adjusted I gasped.
In front of us was the most beautiful garden I had ever seen. You could tell in was in the center of the place since the walls stretched all around it but I could barely see the end of it because of how big the garden was. I only recognized some of the flowers that were right in front of me. There were Daffodils, primroses, Camellia, and other flowers. There were a few giant trees and perfectly trimmed bushes. He walked us down the path towards the center where there was a beautiful Gazebo that had Gold and red designs all over it. As he got to the table in the center of it he finally put me down. I walked around the table and focused on walking towards the flowers.
Once I got down the steps of the gazebo I walked towards the side of the garden I had not seen. I came across rose bushes and felt the petals.
After a few minutes of going through the Garden and being struck by the beauty of it all I heard running. I looked towards the gazebo and saw an out of breath Amanda looking at Father in horror.
“Where is Elle?” She asked if she was pleading.
He sighed and got up. He walked towards me and picked me up.
He looked at Amanda sternly and spoke as if he was angry and entertained.
“Now Amanda, do you not think that the child… Elle?... is safe with me?”
“I completely think that she is safe with you but it is time for her lunch.”
“Hmmm.”
He sighed and stared at me a little more.
I willed all the cuteness towards me again and spoke my best. “Papa, Manda. Wes!”
He shook his head and handed me over to Amanda.
She bowed and held me tight.
“Now Elle, you did great. I know this is a lot for you sweetie but I will not leave you.”
I looked past her shoulder and saw my father looking at the roses.
Well at least I am out of that room, but at what cost?
Amanda took me back inside and walked down a hallway until we stopped in front of a door that also had the golden tree etched into my previous room but there were brilliant blue sapphires put into the door too. Amanda looked at me and then opened up the door. As we stepped in I became astounded and I could not help but gasp as I looked into my new room. She chuckled and said “I guess we could not keep you in Lady Caroline’s room forever. Now you have a room of your own. It is not much compared to any of the bedrooms in the palace but I think this will do great for you.”
The room was just as big as my last room but it had a degree of dazzling to it that went further. Instead of the dark red and gold decorating the room it had blues and greens with outlining of silvers. I looked around to see shelves full of trinkets and books. The bed frame itself had sapphires and even a few emeralds within its designs. It had a canopy draping over it that looked like fine shimmering silver. Across from the bed was a chair and couch that was in the previous room but they were a royal blue and lined in silver. The entire room started to overwhelm me as Amanda moved me towards the bed.
As she put me down on the silk textured sheets I noticed that not only were my original stuffed animals I had were there but there were more. I noticed new toys on the low table in the center. I looked over at a giant window and I noticed that it was not covered like my previous. As I looked further I noticed that it looked over the garden that I was previously in. I explored around the room after I had lunch in the bedroom. We ended up staying in the bedroom for the remainder of the day.
As night came around I fell asleep and wondered if this was going to be a good life or not.
I woke up with the sun hitting my eyes and as I reminded myself of what happened the day before Amanda brought my breakfast. As I munched down she excitedly picked out my clothes and spoke about what I was supposed to be doing today.
I suppose my days just playing with her and Cecelia were over.
I listened to her half heartily as she explained that I would be taken around the palace and showed the different rooms. It caught my attention when she mentioned having lunch and dinner with my father.
It felt like a flash of time went by when she got me dressed. She dressed me up a lot more dollish then normal. A little pink dress with bows and ribbons that I had never seen before. I looked in the mirror entranced by my own reflection. She had my brown curls perfectly pulled half back. As I heard her praises I heard a knock at the door. She went and opened the door to find Cecelia and Lucas being followed by two more guards.
Lucus and Cecelia smiled and said together “ Good morning, Princess!”
I gave them a giggle and Lucus led us around the mansion. He showed us the Library, the kitchen, the ballroom, where the maids and knights quarters. After a few hours, I knew I look exhausted after Amanda looked at me and laughed lightly.
“Sir Lucas, I believe our young lady might be a little tired.”
He looked at me and had a look of worry across his face.
“Yes, yes of course. How about rest in the garden before lunch?”
I perked up and said “Wes!”
As we all rested in the garden and had tea. I got to walk around and look at the flowers that looked even more beautiful than before. I found myself lying under a tree with Cecelia looking at the clouds. As she pointed out cloud shapes and went over shapes with me.
We then went to the dining room for lunch. After a few minutes of sitting down, we were joined by father and surrounded by chefs bringing food. I could only eat a few things but I wanted to squeal for joy by the taste. Father did not say much nor did he eat too much, he just stared at me. After lunch, I was taken to my room to nap and continued with tours. Dinner was the same as lunch when it came to father’s demeanor.
I was then hurried to be bathed and put to bed by Amanda and Cecelia.
