Hunter - Age 16 - New Years Eve
"Wanna go outside?" Hunter asked Zekaj, who was currently laying on the couch watching sappy Christmas movies.
"I don't really see the point." Zekaj answered. It was true, he didn’t see the point to just going outside in the snow, for now at least.
"Just to play around, make a snowman or something." Hunter stated. "Do you even get cold?"
"Not really, I basically exude heat." He said, Hunter had started to put on his warm coat, gloves and snow shoes.
Outside in Hunter's back yard, Zekaj had just stepped out in the middle of the backyard wearing jeans and a coat, just in case anyone saw him they wouldn't think anything.
"So uh what do we even d-" He was cut off by a snow hitting him in the back of the head. Glaring, he turned to look at Hunter who was doing his best at holding in a laugh. In his hand was a snowball. "What the he-." He was cut off again by a snow hitting him in the face.
"Oh my god I didn't mean to hit you in the face!" Hunter panicked. The flare in Zekaj's eyes was scaring him half to death. In a flash Zekaj, balled up snow flinging it at Hunter hitting him square in the chest.
Quickly a snowball fight had begun in the backyard. Zekaj had quickly learned the ropes and was smiling and having fun. Hunter was laughing his ass off at how competitive Zekaj was getting.
After 20 minutes of nonstop snowball making and throwing, Hunter collapsed in the snow. Stretching his arms and legs, his eyes facing the sky.
"You win! You win!" Hunter said as snowballs continued to hit him.
Hunter no longer felt any snowballs hitting him, until a large body slammed on his. Zekaj was laying on top of him, forming a lowercase "T" with their bodies. This caused Hunter to let out a groan in pain.
"That was fun." Zekaj smiled. Zekaj rolled over, and stared at the bright blue sky. "I'm so glad I agreed to be friends. I've never experienced anything like this. Earth is," he paused. "Wonderful."
"What did you do for fun in uh, hell?" Hunter questioned, still staring at the sky.
"I- uh, at the time killing was fun to me." Zekaj frowned. "I don't think I will ever be able to go back to what I was doing. Sitting around waiting for someone to summon me, then do whatever they asked, in return for their soul or whatever. I never did much more than that in Hell, what people never realize about Hell is just how lonely it is." Hunter could see the hurt and sadness in his eyes. But he had to know just how much killing he had done.
"How many people have you killed?" Hunter asked. Zekaj looked straight at Hunter. His pale gold eyes dulling
"Too many to count. I won't kill again, unless I have to. To protect you." Zekaj answered. Hunter meant a lot to Zekaj, more than either of them knew.
Knowing Zekaj would kill for him should've made him worried. But instead it made him smile. Not that he wanted Zekaj to kill, but knowing he would protect him no matter what was nice.

Hunter - Age 16 - Months Later
"I'm booored." Zekaj said in Hunter's Mind, drawing out the “o”. Zekaj really didn't enjoy school, most things he already knew or like some historical events, were there for.
"What exactly do you want me to do about that?" Hunter asked.
"Leave."
"I can't do that Zeke. My parents would kill me." Hunter had decided to give Zekaj a nickname, hence calling him Zeke. It was used in case someone caught them together in public. Hunter preferred to use Zekaj more.
"Mr. Sullivan please pay attention." The teacher said. He mumbled a quick sorry ignoring Zekaj laughing over the fact that he got in trouble.
"Asshole." He mumbled to Zekaj.
"Hey it's not my fault you aren't paying attention."
"It's literally your fault you're the one wh-"
"Mr. Sullivan for the love of god. Pay attention!" His teacher screamed at him.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Harper, it's been a long day." Hunter said.
"You've been in school all day."
"You don't know my life." Hunter mumbled as she continued her lesson.
After class, Hunter and Zekaj made their way to Hunter's locker ready to head home when suddenly his sister appeared out of nowhere ready to take him home. Sadly her boyfriend AJ was there. After him and his sister started dating, AJ didn't pick on him as much anymore. That and the fact that Hunter had grown 4 inches hitting six foot, and had somehow gained a decent bit of muscle.
"He's coming home with us, come on, lets go." She said. Grabbing his bag he walked with them to his car.
"So I've seen you've been hitting the weights." AJ said, trying to create conversation.
"I think someones checking you out."
Hunter grimaced at the thought. Not because he's a guy, but because he's AJ. His bully.
"Yeah." He mumbled. Ending the conversation at that.
Zekaj had grown to hate AJ was well, anyone who was mean to Hunter would have a special place in hell. He'd make sure of it.
When Hunter got home, he immediately went to head upstairs, his sister going to the kitchen, he assumed AJ did too.
Almost to his room, a strong grip grabbed Hunter's arm pushing him into the wall.
"Getting ready to fight back, aren't ya?" Aj said in Hunter's face. "I'd love to see a useless mage try to take on an alpha wolf. Would be quite the show, don't ya think?"
Hunter had learned a while ago that Aj would soon be the alpha of his wolf pack, and with the way things were going, Hannah would be the leader of their coven. Hunter wasn't sure how that would work if they were soulmates.
"Let me on the surface. I'll beat his fucking ass." Zekaj said in his mind.
Zekaj's soul was under Hunter's most of the time, being under his soul meant that Zekaj could talk in his mind and only see through his eyes. If Hunter were to let Zekaj on the "surface" this would mean Hunter's would be under Zekaj's and Zekaj would be able to move Hunter's body around, until Hunter wanted control back.
"Fuck off Aj." Hunter said. He wouldn't let Zekaj on the surface. "Don't you have my sister to woo or somethin?"
As if on queue, Hannah had called for Aj.
"See you around loser." Aj said, loosening his grip and heading back downstairs.
"Please just let me rock his shit."
"Then we'd have to deal with his whole pack." Hunter replied in his mind.
"A few werewolves, won't stop me Hunter."
Hunter, from what he knew of Zekaj, was certain this was true.
Finally entering his room, he felt the familiar feeling of Zekaj leaving his body. The shadows exited his body before making the form of Zekaj, who was laying on his bed.
"Seriously, I could so easily beat the crap out of that kid." Zekaj said, still mad over the AJ situation.
"I don't doubt that for a second." He laughed.
"I could just go in, throw a few punches, use some demonic magic on his ass." He smiled, throwing fake punches and flexing his biceps.
Demonic magic was rarer than that of any the mages had. Hunter had learned that not all demons could do it, only a few could, Zekaj being one of them. Only demons could use this kind of magic. Thinking of this Hunter started to change the subject.
"Did it hurt when your markings came in."
"Oh yeah definitely." Zekaj said nonchalantly. "It was a long excruciating process. It was like my body was burning on the inside." Hunter went wide eye at that, he still had 2 and a half years till he would get them but it still scared him. Noticing this Zekaj tried to calm him down. "But it doesn't hurt after you get them, and it only took like an hour for them to come in."
"That's supposed to calm me down. It took an hour!" Hunter screamed.
"Yeah but i'll be with you the whole time!"
Hunter smiled at this, Zekaj was going to stay with him till then? He truly enjoyed being around him.
"See," Zekaj pulled his shirt off, shifting into his demon form, his markings were on his human form, the markings were just easier to see in his demon form. "This one", pointing one on his right bicep, "is my own symbol. And this one", he pointed to both of his palms, "is the sun and moon." Hunter slowly put his hand on his arm feeling the gold markings. On his arms, thick gold lines wrapped along his arms up to his shoulders. The lines went down through his collarbone, in the same pointy style as on his hands, ending in the middle of his pecs. All throughout his arms and some on his chest, were tiny demonic runes. "I'm not going to explain what every rune means, we'd be here for an hour." he laughed. "Most are various symbols of death, hellfire, shadow, etcetera."
Hunter realized he was still feeling up Zekaj's strong arm. Blushing, he pulled away, hoping Zekaj wouldn't notice.
Zekaj didn't notice Hunter blushing, but was sad when Hunter’s warm hand had stopped touching him.
The warmth of Zekaj had left his hand, the hand he used to finish the contract with Zekaj. The mark had been hidden a while ago using magic.
Sitting in his chair, Hunter checked out Zekaj while he was playing on Hunter’s phone. Zekaj was still in his demon form, Zekaj's facial features were a lot sharper than in human form. Human form Zekaj did still have sharp facial features, but Demon Zekaj could cut metal with his face.
Hunter loved how his eyes were glowing the pale gold, as well as his horns. He noticed how Zekaj always seemed a little awkward in human form. While in his demon form, he was more comfortable and full of smiles.
"You know you don't need to stay in human form all the time."
"I don't want to make you uncomfortable Hunter." Zekaj responded.
"I'm used to you being a demon, and I like your demon form." Hunter smiled.
"Really?" Zekaj smiled. "I'll still go to human form when we aren't in your room, it's safer. But I appreciate you letting me be myself in here." He gestured to Hunter's bedroom.
"That's what friends are for." Hunter smiled.
Saying friends left a weird taste in Hunter's mouth. He quickly forgot about it though.
