The Deal

Tears

Tears

Sep 09, 2020

I woke up in a stranger's bed, not having a clue on how I got here. The room was quite big, dark blue walls with a computer desk in the corner. As I adjusted my eyes I slowly sat up in the bed with the same clothes as yesterday.

Why couldn't I remember what happened yesterday and where the hell am I?

I swung both of my legs over the bed and placed my feet firmly on the ground. As I stood up my head started to throb, glancing around the room with my hand placed against my forehead I saw a mirror on one of the walls.

Making my way over I could hear the rain hitting the window, a sound that soothes me most of the time. When I approached the mirror I instantly remember what happened last night. Kyle tried to rape me, he hit me and he told me I should have been the one to die that night.

But I thought it was just a hit and run.

A purple bruise had formed across my cheek where he slapped me. Ugh, he hits like a bitch.

All this time I thought my brother's death was an accident but now I am starting to think it was more than that. All the more reason I need to go through with this plan and get close to Mason.

A knock came from the door making me turn towards it, after a few seconds it opened revealing a very tired looking Callum.

"Hey, you okay?" He asked me with concern.

I don't know why but when he asked me that question I couldn't hold it in anymore. I just broke down. Tears started to fall down my cheeks with cries escaping my mouth. My knees started to buckle unable to hold me up anymore but before I could hit the floor he caught me.

Wrapping his warm arms around me keeping me up as I cried on his shoulder.

"Callum I miss him so much, I don't know what to do anymore." My whole body was shaking, my heart was hurting from holding all of this in for such a long time.

"Shhh it's okay I've got you" one of his hands was rubbing my back gently whilst the other was around my waist keeping me up. After my sobs died down he gently pushed me back so he could look into my eyes.

"You will never ever be alone do you hear me, we will find who killed your brother. I promise you, and they will pay for it believe me."

Looking into his eyes I saw how sincere he was and how much he cared for me. Who would think that this tall and well-built man from a ruthless gang had a soft side?

"Thank you, Callum, and thank you for coming for me last night. I don't know what would have happened if none of you showed up." He suddenly tensed up looking away.

"Let's not talk about that alright, I made you your favourite coffee"

"You remembered what I like?" I asked surprised, he just looked my way with a little smile and shrugged.

"How can I forget anything to do with you freckles, now come on." He took my small hand in his large rough one making me feel tingles. We started walking down the long hallway in silence until we reached the kitchen. He looked over at me.

"Oh, and before I forget, your friend Lily has been ringing your phone none stop" I looked down to see him sliding his hand into the front pocket of his jeans pulling out my phone. He gave it to me and then started to pour me some coffee.

That's when I noticed West, Jace, Caleb, and the boy with the glasses who I saw yesterday. I could feel them all staring at me and most likely at my bruised cheek.

I look over at Caleb to see him looking pissed off. It can't be because I'm stood next to Callum, can it? or maybe it's because of what happened last night. Snapping out of my thoughts I slid on to the chair next to Callum and facing the boy whose name I don't even know yet.

"I would give her a call if I was you, she might be worried" West spoke softly to me but without making any eye contact.

So I unlocked my phone and pressed call on Lily's contact. Just after one ring, she picked up.

"WHERE THE FUDGE HAVE YOU BEEN, I HAVE BEEN SO WORRIED. DO YOU LIKE TO SCARE ME IS THAT IT. I SWEAR TO GOD......." I pulled the phone away from all the screaming at the other end of my phone scrunching my face up.

God shes worse than my dad sometimes.

I heard a chuckle coming from Callum. I sent him a glare making him laugh even more.

"Something funny Reed?" I whispered.

"Definitely freckles" he tried to catch his breath before continuing. "Put it on loudspeaker, I really want to hear this conversation."

Rolling my eyes I pressed the loudspeaker button anyway.

"You know how bad at lying I am, I've locked myself in my room hiding from my parents. I haven't even had any breakfast yet. So wherever you are, get your fat but to my house now so it actually does look like you stayed at mine for the night."

"Lil..."

"I am not done, missy."

All the guys started to laugh quietly.

These guys may be insanely good looking, but they are idiots.

"Mason also called me asking me where you were so you can speak about your date. You have a lot of explaining to do Hope Wynter Carter and you better have a good excuse. I will be seeing you soon."

Then she hung up. Sighing I placed my phone down on the table, grabbing my cup of coffee taking a sip.

"Well I hope you guys take a good look at me before I leave, it will be the last you see of me"

The boy with no name chuckled before speaking "I don't think she will kill you" He had a hint of an amused smile on his face making his eyes sparkle.

"You don't understand, she used my full name. She only uses that when I am in big trouble."

"You're cute" I choked a bit on my coffee from his boldness. The look on all of the guy's faces tells me that they weren't happy with his statement.

He looked over at them all before explaining.

"Don't worry you, idiots, I'm not interested in having to fight for this girl. Just telling the truth. I can see why you all like her."

Okay, I can definitely feel my cheeks heating up now.

"My name is Ryan Adams, the tech guy or computer whiz if you prefer that. Basically the brains in this gang" He sent me a playful wink when the rest of the guys scoffed.

"Deseas que eso fuera verdadero amigo." (You wish that was true mate)

"No one understands you on this table Jace, so I don't think its wise to speak Spanish to us 'Amigo'." Ryan stood up with his cup and walked towards the sink.

"I will see you guys and Hope later." Then he was gone.

I finished off my coffee before deciding it was time for me to go.

"I best get going then, can one of you please drop me off at Lily's." I looked over at each one of them waiting for one of them to volunteer.

Callum was the one who offered to take me but not before West could complain about not finishing our conversation last night about taking Mason down.

I put my hand up to stop him from talking. "Listen to me West, I don't have time for your whining alright. Just trust me with Mason, I will deal with him. I made a promise and I don't break them so just let me get on with it MY way."

What shocked me was he didn't argue back, he just gave me a quick nod and left the kitchen.

Well, that's a first.

______________________________

When I arrived at Lily's I had to explain absolutely everything to her, and what happened since I last saw her. To say she was shocked was an understatement but after she yelled at me for a little bit she held me whilst I told her what Kyle tried to do.

I spent the rest of my day with her binge-watching the vampire diaries and munching on sweets. Until it was time to go home.

My uncle and dad were out with some friends when I arrived leaving me some money to order in. So I ordered a pizza and quickly jumped into the shower scrubbing my whole body over and over again. Then washing my hair with my raspberry and mint shampoo.

After changing into my pyjamas which consisted of black booty shorts and one of my brother's old tops I ran down the stairs answering the door to the delivery guy.

All I could think about was how was I going to find another one of Mason's weaknesses without being caught and how the hell was I going to figure out my feelings between the boys I have grown to like and care for so much.

This is going to be one hell of a journey.
