Part 2 - Loving a Demon
Hunter - Age 17 - Beginning of Summer
Void Demons
Otherwise known as Shadow Demons, Void Demons are typically located on the edge of hell, closest to the abyss known as the void. Void Demons excel in the use of Shadow Magic as well as basic Demonic Magic. They strive in the dark, and attack from the shadows.
Standing typically in the 6-foot range, their skin ranges from light greys to the darkest blacks with only the gold markings on their bodies being any accent of color.
Hunter continued reading.
Like all Demons, they’re master manipulators.
“What!” Hunter thought. He continued on.
Summoning a Void Demon is also risky, they will always find a way to backstab and manipulate a mage into doing their bidding. Making a contract with them is incredibly dangerous, they try to keep deals ambiguous so they can go about their dangerous schemes.
Never. Summon. Alone.
Hunter looked at his hand where the symbol of Zekaj would be if it wasn’t hidden. “What exactly was our deal?” He thought.
“It’s a deal, Friends.” Zekaj’s voice echoed in his mind. Hunter had remembered the deal they made almost two years ago. He realized he basically did the exact opposite of what the book said to do.
Hunter looked over at the Void Demon in his room. Zekaj was laying on his bed playing on their switch, his focus entirely being on his Animal Crossing Island.
“Could he be playing the long con?” Hunter thought as he watched Zekaj play games on his bed.
“Fuck!” Zekaj screamed, causing Hunter to jump in his seat. “Stupid fucking spiders.” He mumbled.
Hunter just laughed, he knew Zekaj would never betray him. Hunter went back to reading the Demonomicon.
Notable Void Demons
Hunter was surprised by the first name and picture to appear.
Lord Zekaj, Son of the Voidkeeper
Demon Lord Zekaj is a ruthless demon known for his destructiveness in magic and combat. No enemy is too hard a foe for this demon. With the power to take on multiple covens at a time, Zekaj should not be summoned wearily, most mages who summon him end up doing his bidding due to his trickery.
Summoning Zekaj requires around 5+ mages to summon. The recommended amount is around 10 in order to keep him from tricking the whole group.
“That’s funny,” Hunter thought, “I summoned him alone.”
On the other side of the book was a portrait of Zekaj, with him scowling in the drawing. It looked exactly like Zekaj at the time Hunter had summoned him. Now his constant scowl is mostly gone.
The other names in the book were demons of lesser standing compared to Zekaj but were easier to summon.
“So your dad is the Voidkeeper?” Hunter asked Zekaj who was still playing on the switch. Zekaj’s attention immediately left the switch, moving over to Hunter.
“Yeah,” Zekaj said, sitting up on the bed. “He watches over the void and basically makes sure nothing weird comes out. Not that difficult of a job, at least not unless something weird does come out of the void. That’s never good. I mean we're good at fighting whatever the void throws at us, since it’s our job. It's why void demons are good at fighting. Naturally it left that part out though.” Zekaj said as he read the small description of void demons in the book.
“What is this?” Zekaj said, he was looking at the drawing of himself. “This doesn’t look anything like me! My nose isn’t this long!”
“I think it’s perfect.” Hunter said sarcastically. The drawing was pretty accurate to be fair.
“What!” Zekaj exclaimed. He held the drawing up next to his face. “See completely different.”
Zekaj brought the book down into his lap and continued to read. His face scrunching up when he was done with the whole section.
“I’m not like this anymore.” Zekaj stated.
“I know.” Hunter said.
“I’m serious. I’d never betray you too, sure I thought about it a bit.”
Hunter raised his eyebrow in question and Zekaj quickly went into detail.
“Right when you summoned me I thought about it for a bit until I realized you were just a dumb kid. Not saying you're dumb! Just you reminded me of me, bored, looking for anything to interest you.” He quickly corrected himself.
“I know Zekaj, I trust you alright? I’m not going to let some stupid book change the way I see you.” Hunter said. “But that day, why were you so angry when I summoned you? What were you doing in hell?”
Zekaj’s eyes widened, Hunter was pretty sure if he was in his human form he’d be blushing.
“Zekaj,” He paused, “What were you doing?”
Zekaj just backed away and placed his hand behind his neck.
“You know, chillin, killin, the ushe.” He smiled.
Hunter squinted his eyes, “What were you doing Zekaj?”
“Iwashavingsexwithawomen.” Zekaj sputtered out, he really couldn’t keep secrets from Hunter.
“Huh?” Hunter questioned.
“I was having sex, ok?” Zekaj said, looking away from Hunter.
Jealousy flowed through Hunter and he couldn’t help the frown from forming on his face. Why was he so jealous of Zekaj having sex?
Hunter finally was able to say something. “Oh.” That was all that came out.
“Look like I said Hell can be pretty boring. I had been waiting for my soulmate for hundreds of years and nothing! And a demon has his needs too! Ok bad phrasing, but I get horny too sometimes, y’know?”
Hunter’s face was completely red now, Zekaj somehow managed to make the situation worse. Hunter just sat there in complete silence.
“Say something?” Zekaj whimpered.
Hunter wasn’t sure how to feel besides Jealous. Why was he so jealous over the fact that Zekaj was sleeping with some girl?
“Speak please, it's killing me!” Zekaj pleaded with Hunter.
“You,” Hunter started. “You don’t think she’s still waiting for you, do you?”
“Uh,” Zekaj paused. “Probably not, let me go check.”
Zekaj faded into shadows and fell through the floor. The room was oddly quiet now. Zekaj’s presence was missing in his room and Hunter didn’t like it. To pass the time Hunter continued reading the book.
Spirit Demons
Long since extinct, Spirit Demons resided in the spirit world. Not much is known about them, only the fact that they once existed is known.
Notable Spirit Demons:
None
He continued on to the next page.
Inner Circle Demons
Inner Circle Demons are found in the middle of hell, these Demons are the hottest of the bunch. Their skin ranges from every color seen in fire, from oranges to reds. These demons are known for the extensive use of hellfire magic. Essentially wild cards, one never knows what an Inner Circle Demon is planning.
Hunter was interrupted from the book by a knock on the door.
“Hunter, Dinner’s ready.” His mom said through the closed door.
Hunter sat around a bit longer for Zekaj to come back, but after 5 minutes he knew he was expected downstairs. Sighing he left the bedroom and hoped Zekaj wouldn’t accidentally show up when he was at dinner.
The whole time he was at the dinner table he couldn’t focus on his food. He couldn’t stop thinking of Zekaj who had left for Hell an hour ago. What was taking him so long, it was only a simple trip!
“Hunter you’ve barely touched your dinner.” Jaxon said, interrupting his son’s thoughts.
“I’m not just not very hungry dad.” Hunter replied, as he continued to push his food around with his fork. It sucked too because it was his and Zekaj’s favorite tonight, pork chops. He’d have to put some in a tupperware for Zekaj to eat later.
Hunter somehow managed to finish his food 10 minutes later and made his way up his room. He hoped to see Zekaj sitting in his chair when he opened the door, but the room was demon free.
Sitting in Zekaj’s chair, he looked around his room, this was the longest him and Zekaj had been apart. Was it sad that he could barely last two hours alone without starting to feel the same way he did when Zekaj wasn’t in his life
The incredible sense of loneliness flooded him. It was the same as 2 years ago, no Zekaj, no friends. Endless days of just sitting in his room playing video games by himself, reading alone, staring out the window for countless hours.
It was getting late now and all Hunter wanted to do was get into bed and sleep the night away, hoping his demon would appear sometime in the night.
The night was when the bad thoughts came. Was Zekaj finally bored of him? Was this part of a secret plan he’s been concocting? Was the girl there and he realized she’d be a better lover than himself?
What? Hunter thought. That last thought came out of nowhere.
Hunter continued thinking about Zekaj, he couldn’t help it. His dark hair, hard muscles, grey skin, and beautiful pale gold eyes were always on his mind. The way he could intimidate anyone with just a twitch of his eyebrows. The set of kissable lips he had. The way Zekaj's muscles felt when he was held close to Zekaj.
Hunter sat up on his bed and stared at the other side of the room in shock. It had been staring him in the face the entire time. He finally had an explanation for everything.
Why being only friends with Zekaj was disappointing.
Why he was jealous of the girl Zekaj was sleeping with.
Why he hated being away from Zekaj.
Why he so badly wanted to be held and kissed by Zekaj.
He was in love with Zekaj.
