As promised, here's a glimpse into our hero's rocky relationship with his parents. I think this sort of dysfunction is something we're all familiar with; I mean, who hasn't hasn't had their mom try to tell them that their biological father is a plank of wood? For those of you reading this overseas, it's a pretty common source of tension within modern American families.
I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty happy with how the art turned out. I penciled and inked this on paper, and then colored it in photoshop, and I used some new techniques that are very time-consuming but helped to give the feel of a flashback. It feels a bit more illustrative, I think.
In other news, somebody shared this video, and I think it's pretty much the most awesome thing ever. Apparently it's from the cartoon show, Ed, Edd & Eddy:

Sadly, my comic is apparently not the first time a plank of wood has been a major character. Oh well.
By the way... If you're too impatient to wait for the next page, have no fear! I'm reposting bite-size portions of comics from Plank-of-Wood Boy's original run in 2007 on my main website. They're funny, I think: http://www.plankofowoodboy.com
