Part 2: Jasmine
The bell rang for the end of school.
“Finally!” Bridget smiled when we had been reunited with her at the gate. “Freedom!”
Sara laughed. We all walked down the street together, arms linked.
“So, Jasmine…” Sara started.
“No.” I replied.
“Please!” Bridget pleaded, separating herself from me and Sara and jumping up and down in protest.
“We just want to know,” Sara said.
I put my hands into my jacket pockets and we continued to walk.
After a few minutes, I decided to tell Sara and Bridget what I had seen earlier when talking to Cooper. I was curious to see their reactions.
“I’ve got something to say,” I confessed.
“Yes!” Sara shouted, and held her hand out to Bridget. Bridget rolled her eyes, and pulled a five pound note out and handed it to Sara. I gasped: “Were you two betting on my having a crush on Cooper! It’s not even that!”
“It was just a joke,” Sara claimed, handing the money back to Bridget.
“What is it then?” Bridget asked.
I sighed. This was gonna be hard to explain.
“You know when Cooper was talking to us the other day?”
Both my friends nodded.
“When he smiled before he walked off, it was so fake. Like super fake. I’m concerned,” I finished.
They both sat there, open mouthed.
“We should help, shouldn’t we?” I asked.
Bridget nodded bubbly. Sara rolled her eyes and muttered: “Sure,”
I smiled.
After saying goodbye to my friends, I unlocked the front door of my house, said hello to my parents, went up to my room and flopped down on my bed.
“What a day,” I said to myself.
