Courtney walks in the front door of her house, and unfortunately, her mom was home. She tiptoes past the kitchen to try and avoid her mom, but she gets caught. “So who was that handsome boy?” her mom asked. “Just someone to walk me home in the rain, mom,” Courtney said. “No, I think you too are more than friends,” her mom teased. “Mom, we just met today before I got home,” Courtney said. “A lot of things can happen in a short amount of time,” her mom said. Courtney went upstairs and threw her book sack on the floor. She laid on her bed and looked at her phone. A message that popped up said, “This is Alex call me any time.” Courtney responded with, “I will”. One of Courtney’s younger brother, Roland, comes running into the room. “Sissy food is finish,” Roland said. “Okay, I will be down,” Courtney said. She walks downstairs and sits at the dinner table.
