15. I try to keep these settle between us, if only I didn't make that stupid mistake of promising you this...That we will always be together, I mean life takes people different ways, and life brought us here, as siblings, SIBLINGS, nothing more, nothing less, okay, Valencia?"
Backstory 3...
Valencia smiles at Victor and then gives him a big hug, as usual.
These two broke that promise quite a few times, I bet you're wondering what this promise is, but that's something for later...
Just the day after the adoption, the two got along so well, they became great siblings, their love was played favorites...Although there are many boundaries to have, their relationship could have made more since if they had these.
"What happened to you and your family, did mom and dad let you know?" A young five year old Valencia stares at Victor in wonder, waiting for an upright answer as all kids do, but Victor being six replies with, "I don't know, not much I remember."
"Me neither," she giggles, "you are something else, Victor, like a mysterious flavored lollipop."
"I guess so."
"I say so because of your shades, they are something weird to wear when the sun isn't out, but, who knows, we haven't even see what the rest of this big neighborhood looks like, I don't know why mom and dad won't let us see the world."
"They said that it's very dangerous right now."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
Valencia stares at Victor saying, "you have such unique eyes, they look yellow..."
"Your's look orange, aren't they?"
"Yes, but, these eye colors are surely normal to have I think, I just wish I can see more people like us."
"Yeah."
They continue to sit on the curb, eating ice cream together, until James comes out to them saying, "do not sit on the street, come in the house and eat your ice cream." James beside the door, waiting for them to come in, and they walk inside the home.
The brilliant home of the Bardersons was to not let the kids see the outside world one bit, I wonder why they have come to such parenting, and has this truly helped with anything.
