While Ian was walking towards Ephraim, there was a howling voice came from the opposite side where Ian faced.
Ephraim immediately stood up, packed his small lunch box and looked Ian with a serious face. “Khalia howled,” he said, while looking to the source of the howling voice.
“Yes. She howled. We have to report this now.” Ian added.
The howling voice was a danger sign. If the watcher howled, then it means that there’ll be few enemy who were around there.
Before Ian had time to go to their camp at that place, the wolf Ephraim said just now , Khalia, howled for the second time. Seems like the situation there has become more dangerous.
Ian turned his back and ran, followed by Ephraim behind.
That night was really dark. They ran through the ruined city, with car junks, stones, and another wrecked things around them. A few street lamp that was still worked, rayed some places that they ran through.
Now the third howl was heared again. This time, it’s not from Khalia, but it’s from Scott, the watcher who watched over West side of the city ruins. Now there’s two places they need to avoid from going to, West side and North side of the city ruins.
“Isn’t the main camp was close to the West side?” Ephraim asked Ian when Ian ran to South.
“What??” Ian stopped. “Isn’t the main camp at the South?” he asked with a confused face.
Ephraim shook his head. “It’s at the West, you stupid.”
A moment of awkward.
Ephraim scolded himself in his head. “Argh! You fool! How can you forget such an important things like this in a dangerous situation?”
His face became red because of embarrassment.
