“I am not your enemy. You may call me Solomon.” said the Mysterious Woman.
“Solomon….You’re not from here, are you?” asked Bruno, observing her. Solomon had an odd-looking cloak, stretching all the way down. Was she a priestess...from Vallia?
Solomon then patted over her cloak, cleaning the dust of her.
“I'm merely a traveler. But When I passed by this town, I saw some fighting occur in the outskirts. But That’s not important right now...The Important thing is that in that building over there….”
Everyone then focused their attention on the building.
“There are people there. Some of those Invaders are still around the town…Be careful. There's a chance a Maurader is inside, which is why I didn't want to dash to help...Doing it alone is not wise, for I only endanger the innocent.”
Aeneas looked closely and then understood what exactly was the building. He then replied,
“That’s the Town Hall! Alright, We’ll divide our army into 2 groups. Me, Alonso, and Bruno with our 550 Soldiers will assist the people at the Town Hall," said Aeneas, and than quickly turned to look at her.
"I don't know who you are, but You saved me back there. Thank you for your help. We'll rescue the hostages."
Solomon smiled, and then took off her cloak, revealing her battle equipment. It was...rather feathery...with lots of armor.
"Thanks but...I assist you. Trust me."
Aeneas, unfazed, then laughed, before giving her a thumbs up.
"Awesome! Then, In that case...Reinhardt will lead the second group. Sully, Oliver, and Cormac, you guys will Go with him and check out the remaining hostiles with the other half of the army. Solomon and everyone else will follow me," said the Prince as he gave the signal to head into the town.
Reinhardt nodded. “Let’s go, men! If anyone here can use Water Style Magic, Please assist the city in extinguishing the fires!”
Reinhardt’s group went to check around the city for the remaining Mauraders around the city.
Aeneas and his group then walked to the Town Hall.
He quickly but quietly knocked on the door. “Is anyone there?”
A small girl opened the door, looking scared at the prince.
“W-who are you..?”
Aeneas smiled and turned around to show him his cape.
“The Prince of Calydon, At your service, Ma’am.”
But then, a shadow approached behind the little girl...holding an axe, it rushed down towards her, fast.
"Huh?"
Before Aeneas had time to react, An loud, eerie sound could be heard. Then...Blood followed.
Everyone searched. Oliver then noticed something as they searched the houses. “I know you’re hiding there. Identify yourself!”
A few Bandits showed themselves and surrendered.
Reinhardt gave the order. “Cuff them up.”
The Bandits were captured. Reinhardt then began to interrogate them.
“Tell us everything you know. You guys seemed really organized for having 5000 men invade this one town that's days from the capital. You might as well be Insurrectionists!”
One of the bandits spoke up. “As far as I’m aware….We should be the only ones left here. The Majority of us were on the battlefield but some of us went to town to loot….But…”
Reinhardt then said: “But….?”
The Bandit then looked terrified. “That Monster...It killed most of our allies….It even killed the most powerful man in our entire army...Before we knew it, We were the only ones left alive….So We hid here.”
Reinhardt then was wondering. “Monster…?”
The bandit was taken out by none other than Solomon. By quickly pointing out her finger, she unleashed something out of her finger tips....Magic? Without...a tome? That's impossible, thought Aeneas.
The little girl then cried and then went up running back inside.
Reinhardt then asked one more crucial question. “Who sent you guys?”
The man then said something really crucial: “I can’t say...It was never revealed to us lowly thieves. We only did what we're told. We were promised Riches...
Reinhardt said nothing and looked at them with disgust. “Alright. Dylan, Cormac, Take them away.”
Another one of the bandits then spoke up. “Wait. There is something you must know….especially if The Prince is around.”
Then the Bandit next to him was nervous. “Y-you’re going to tell them? Don’t do it!”
“No. Listen, The only reason I accepted this job was because of the money...There’s no benefit in me keeping quiet. I never said I was loyal to those shady people. I’ll accept my punishment.”
The bandit said nothing and looked down in despair.
Reinhardt then got tense. “What are you talking about…?”
The Bandit then spoke up. “I’ll get to the point: The Capital is in Danger. You need to go back now. This was all just a diversion….By now, An Army of Marauders 3 times the size of ours should be reaching the capital any moment now.
Everyone was terrified now, upon hearing this.
“What?!”
Reinhardt then thought to himself: "15,000 Men...This might as well be a huge plot....Could it be....The Empire?! There's no question about it now!!! DAMN IT!!"
Meanwhile, In the Town Hall, Aeneas and his group were helping the citizens, the wounded, and the hungry. There were many injured Soldiers in the Town Hall. Aeneas was seen helping an elder with her minor injuries, providing her food and water.
“Thank you so much for helping all of us, My Prince.”
Aeneas replied, “Oh no, I’m nothing of the sort. I couldn’t save the lives that were lost here today…. We were too late to prevent whatever happened here to the town...I'm sure you even lost your home as well. With that... I’m so sorry, Miss.”
The Elderly lady then replied, “In Life, there’s always 2 sides to a coin. Good things happen, and bad things happen. Plus...This isn't the first time you were here, sonny. Thanks to you, My child is doing much, much better and has recovered from their injuries. The fact that you even went as far as to train with them is something I will never ever forget as long as I live."
Aeneas then recalled his journey...when he first came to Cordia.
"Oh my god...That's right! So you're Spada's Mother! It's...been far too long."
"You may have saved my child and me....but You can’t always save everyone from the flow of time...Time is eternal. I’m far too old anyway...I can die any day now. And I can say, That I have lived a good life...thanks to your help as well.”
Aeneas's heart felt warm, for those words...meant a lot to him. For a moment, he had forgotten the fruits of his journey...The People. He has met many personalities...but with all a common theme: They all just wanted to provide for their families. Some wanted families. Others wanted an equal...With many interesting people in Calydon...Aeneas knew what he must do, and gained confidence in his goal.
“Miss….Thank you. I needed that right now.”
She replied, “Please do not burden yourself with everything. This was not your fault, My Prince. I’m very thankful for your efforts. We all are. Make sure to say hello to everyone too!”
The elder then grabbed Aeneas’s hands and replied. “I’m sure...that you will be a great King, As Great as your mother led this country….”
The Old Lady winked and smiled, showing her teeth. Aeneas then realized what she was trying to tell him and hid his tears. He then hugged the elder.
“Thank you so much, Granny…That truly….I promise I will do all in my power to help everyone.”
The elder smiled. “Please continue to do a wonderful job. I know you are a good soul in your heart. We know everything….and We are all counting on you…”
Reinhardt then quickly barged inside the Townhall. “MILORD! WE HAVE A CLASS 1 EMERGENCY!”
Aeneas then stood up. “I’m heading out, Ma’am.”
The Old Lady replied, “Safe Travels…”
He ran towards Reinhardt. “What happened?!”
“The enemy revealed very important intel to us, All this was just a distraction...Their true aim was to invade the capital while we were gone. At this rate, Your father is in great danger….”
Someone then knocked the door open, startling everyone….It was a scout from the capital.
“IS LORD REINHARDT HERE?!!”
Reinhardt replied, “I'M HERE! What happened?!”
“SIR, THE CAPITAL…. A LARGE UNKNOWN ARMY IS HEADED TOWARDS THERE RIGHT NOW!”
Reinhardt and Aeneas look at each other.
Reinhardt then spoke up.
“IF THERE ARE ANY HEALTHY SOLDIERS OR SKILLED FIGHTERS AND MAGES OUT HERE, WE NEED YOUR HELP! THE CAPITAL IS UNDER ATTACK AND WE AS MANY PEOPLE TO ASSIST US WHILE WE CAN!”
People were shocked and then a couple of people, which suddenly became hundreds, raised their hands.
Aeneas then spoke up. “Alright! We’re going to the capital now! Our Wind Mages will help us get to the capital! We should be there in nearly 2 hours at maximum speed! Gather any available soldier left around the city and inform them of the situation!”
A soldier then replied, “Sir….We’re the only ones left. The rest of the army that went to fight out there was…..”
Aeneas was thinking to himself…. “Damn it….So with just 1000 plus our army huh….Better than nothing. Two hours isn’t enough…..and if We don’t make it….At this rate, The Capital will….”
Then, Oliver spoke up, "My lord, we can do the thing again, I can handle it one more time!"
"Wh- But You literally held over an army of people all on your own! You can't do this again, You'll die!"
Solomon, with one glance, understood what Oliver was capable of. It seems that she was capable of using Strong Magic, for she could detect that Oliver will not survive if he unleashes one more blast of mana to energize everyone. That said, she wanted to help and knows something that everyone doesn't. Because out of everyone around her, she definitely has more experience, for she was an expert. She was a believer of "experts don't show their secrets", but as this involved something extremely serious....she had to take responsibility, for many lives are now in her hands. And so, she decided to aid Oliver.
Who is this woman?
