I didn't take Shay with me, deciding that this was a problem that I'd rather solve on my own. I mean, how hard was it to tell the police that there's this grown man that's having sexual relations to a minor. A minor who openly sought out for said relations, but a minor none the less. I planned to do it on my break during work, which didn't last long but I'm sure Mr. Yu will understand if I explain the situation thoroughly. I don't know what Blake's situation is at home, where his parents are and why are they allowing him to do these kinds of things. But whatever they are, I hope these people can look for a support system for him.
In a different turn of events, I decided to just completely lie to my boss, thinking that explaining the situation would just complicate things further. What was I to say to him? Sir, I'm just gonna have to go to the police station to report child molestation. I don't think he would let me go so easily without going into further details, something I don't have time for. So, I told him I might have to leave early, because of a family emergency. Out of fear or respect for my father, he let me go without another word. I did feel extremely guilty for lying to someone who has been nothing but kind to me and Andrew. But I was simply concerned for Blake.
Believe it or not, he used to be a normal young boy. Sure, he used to tease my sister a lot when they were kids. But that was the reason she grew attracted to him, she thought that the guy had some sort of internal conflict where he can't express emotion through tender human ways and can only give it across through aggression. Blake was like the little brother I so wanted but never had. Was it hormones that made him this way? Nobody knows for sure, hormones never made me like the way he is now.
I pulled up in front of the police station. If they don't listen to me or to my evidence, then they surely will listen to the cash I prepared. This boy needs serious help and I'm not sitting back and watch him ruin his life. I entered the police station and went to the nearest cop I saw.
"Hi, I'm here to report an incident regarding child sexual abuse," I told him, he doesn't even seem fazed by this as he pointed to a chair in front of a different police officer, this one looking much more tolerant.
"Hey there, what can I help you with," He said after he hanged up from his phone call. He looked nice, muscular, and clean. He looked tame compared to Andrew's wild and unpredictable look. Something that I realized that I prefer much better than the boring ordinary look.
"Uhm, You see, my sister's boyfriend is having sex with this much older man, and-" He cut me off with a hand and I promptly silenced.
"What is the age of the victim?" He kneaded his fingers together, placing them across his chest.
"About 17."
"Do you think that the relationship was non-consensual?" He asked I remembered the time when I went there and the man just walked up to him and groped him like it was nothing. Blake seemed also unfazed by it.
"I mean no, but-"
"Then we can't do anything, If the minor approved of it and gave consent, there's nothing we can really do." He said giving me the look of pity, I want none of it. I stood up and left the police station, thinking that I just wasted half of my workday for this. I would've thought they'd go into action real quick and I have to go with them to Blake's house. Then we'll find him there in the middle of his intense group sessions and we'll be able to successfully catch a handful of perverts.
Running out of options, I decided to give the only person I know who can handle a situation like this. Aiden. I gave his phone a call and he immediately answered on the first ring.
"Hello, Jacob? You need something?" He asked and I heard the loud tapping on the keyboard. It's like he's giving the keyboard quick and incessant hits with a bat.
"Hey, is there any way that you can hack and change the law or this stupid rule when it comes to underage sex?" I asked and he hummed, seeming to know what I was already requesting for.
"Hmmm, I could, I'll try. You know what, wait for me there, I'm coming." He said and hung up on me. I didn't doubt what he said, I figured he might've already traced where I am just from the call that I gave him.
It took him a few minutes but he eventually came up to me, clad in a sweater, jeans and rubber shoes. He didn't take his laptop with him but merely a cellphone.
"God, I was so bored, Andrew didn't take me with him to the secret mission. THEY LEFT ME AT THE GANG HOUSE!!!" He was screaming and ranting, while already working with whatever he has on his phone. "It was so empty!!! God, I felt like I was going to get attacked any minute."
He keeps on ranting to me about Andrew and I just laughed at him, finding his situation extremely hilarious. Unexpectedly, I heard the police station buzz with life. They were walking around with files in hand talking to each other in frantic shouts. I watched them do their work for a couple of minutes.
"Ain't chaos just beautiful?" Aiden whispered to me, and I gave him a wary stare. Maybe he was turning into someone like Kenny or Hunter, who are so in love with the destruction that they can produce.
After a few moments of the two of us just watching the entire police station collapse into a wild pandemonium, I received a call. It was an unknown number but I still picked it up, never know if your sister's going to get kidnapped again.
"Hi, we just looked into the case that you turned in earlier this afternoon." I looked to my side and saw that Aiden was leaning extremely close, trying to listen in to the conversation. Even as I caught him, it didn't faze a bit as e just continued eavesdropping. "And we need to take immediate legal action, the rules have been changed. It is our primary duty to ensure the security of the teen. Please report to the station immediately." I gave a response and I hung up the phone.
"Nice," I said and gave Aiden a high five. Aiden tagged along as I went back into the office, which was now busier than earlier. People making calls and teams heading out. I picked up bits and pieces of information here and there, concerning dark and tragic cases.
"Miss, your daughter-"
"The relationship between your son and his friend's father-"
"It's now our concern that your daughter-"
"Things have changed, please report-"
"Have you heard of that congressman proposing to get rid of all the gangs around here?"
My attention was on the gossiping girls, with Aiden obviously listening in very intently.
"Oh yeah, don't you think that's going to be great?" They laughed with each other, as Aiden and I stared at their backs, not believing what they said. If what they said is right and that the police are going to get involved in the gang world, then Andrew might be in big trouble.
"Once they're gone, our work will practically be halved- " I stopped listening to their conversation, focusing my attention on the officer at the front desk.
"Yeah hi, I've been called back?" I started pretending not to know the reason for such a sudden change.
"Yes, Officer Matthews is looking for you," He said and I went back the cop that told me earlier that they can't do anything, yada yada yada. Well, the rules to the game just changed, you play by my rules. I sat down on one of the chairs in front of Officer Matthew's desk and Aiden took the seat in front of me, He was still busy on his phone. The Officer receives calls here and there but they stopped at once. I looked towards Aiden, who gave me a smirk as he just waved his phone under the table.
"Hi, Jacob? Yes, your report on the minor that has sexual relations with the adults. We need more info so we can make a move." He said and I gladly gave them everything I know, address, names, and even the little recording I had on my phone.
"Thank you, we're going to issue a search warrant, what date do you think would be good?" I was shocked that he asked, don't they usually just go when they want or like to go immediately? It must be one of the things that Aiden changed. I looked towards him to see if he has any idea at what date they should go for a search.
Wednesday, he mouthed towards me.
"Wednesday," I told the officer and he nodded, taking down notes. We said our thanks and bid farewell.
"Why Wednesday?" I asked, he just kept walking, not looking away from his phone. His phone rang deafeningly, displaying Andrew's name. I didn't bother to eavesdrop or to try and ask to talk to him, he will call me if he wants to talk to me.
"Oh so now you need me?" Aiden asked with a smirk, he sighed knowing he can't deny his boss. "Fine, give me 30 and I'll be right there." He said, looking towards me as he hung up. "There's something big going down in his place by Wednesday, you might want to go with since it ain't going to be pretty." Aiden left, walking towards the direction that he came from. His retreating figure lost in the sea of people in the streets. I got in my car and left for home, it has been a long day, I'm glad Aiden was able to help me but thinking about all these is just stressing me out.
I went home, ate ice cream, and binge-watch CSI.
Wednesday eventually rolled around, this time I didn't ditch work halfway. I took a sick leave, which my boss found oddly suspicious but I texted Aiden if he can doctor me a medical certificate, which he thankfully said he can. I contacted the station and asked what time they planned to search the residence but they didn't bother to answer me. So I was just waiting out here with a coffee and donut, waiting to see what happens.
Music blared from the house, cars upon cars parked down the driveway. Teens and adults alike were entering his house, not more than 20. Some were carrying weird bags and suitcases and some just carried the obvious cooler filled with booze. A cop car was driving down the road, siren turned off, around 4 cops stepped out. I stepped out of my car and approached them, hiding out of sight so I can eavesdrop in on what's happening.
One of them knocked on the door, and A slightly high and extremely naked Blake opened the door for them, the cops took note of this.
"Good afternoon we have a search-"
Blake was about to slam the door on them but with insane speed, he used his baton to stop it and slammed his whole body against the door, forcing it open and revealing the disaster awaiting inside. I moved behind the cops to take a better look, and Aiden wasn't kidding, it's a big mess.
The nasty smell of drugs wafted out of the house. Teens and adults were inside, on top of each other, making out or much more nasty things. No one was dressed, no one was dancing, or just plain socializing. It's a sex party. The music stopped and everyone inside froze in fear, looking at the cops. They immediately got into action, standing up and diving for their clothes, but the cops were quicker.
"DROP TO THE FLOOR NOW!!! I WON'T ASK TWICE!!" The cop took out his gun and aimed it at anyone who was not on the floor, everyone dropped within seconds, not wanting to get hurt. "Hello, station do you read? We have a code 288 and 11357c, 25 people in total needs to be transported." Blake cowered against the door, shaking in fear.
I looked at the scene before me, wondering whatever did happen to the little brother that I took care of.
