The clerk had been warning me. Once on the bike the rage and worry I felt
came out in speed. What happened to Jeremy? I was scared that my only ally
in this whole world might be killed. In a small room stood four men over
Jeremy. One of the men had their foot on his throat.
"You will do as we say or else suffer. This girl you've been helping we need
her."
Jeremy looked up to the man holding him hostage. His face was covered all
but his eyes. They were a deep blue but had a slit to them like animals. Under
his hair on the forehead a symbol could barely be seen. Jeremy was
wondering if this was some sort of cult.
"I don't know what you are talking about."
The men didn't look pleased with his answer. The man holding him down
pushes his foot harder into his throat. Slowly his vision was becoming
blurred. Jeremy soon passed out from the pressure. The men look to one
another then his computers.
"The bastard wiped it all clean before we got in here. Let's take him with us
for now."
One of the men walked over looking to a notepad next to the computer.
Written down was Noah, John Herman, and Zoe all with question marks.
They load Jeremy into a van. The man headed to the drivers door let out a
sigh.
"If he breaks that curse then we are fucked. This girl is a real hindrance."
In the van Jeremy kept his eyes closed not to let them know he was already
awake. The joys of him being choked by his father so much as a child. It
actually took a lot to make him pass out. Thankfully he had learned how to
keep his breathing calm like an unconscious person. All the men take off their
mask to reveal scarred up faces. They each had the symbol on their forehead
in the same spot.
"So how smart is this little shit? Is our intelligence correct on him?"
The man sitting in front of Jeremy rubbed his head letting out a frustrated
sigh.
"Yeah it is correct. This little fucker can track down anyone. His
information was so hard to buy it would have been cheaper to buy a
continent."
The man who asked the question glared down to Jeremy. He couldn't believe
a human was worth so much money. They remained silent for the drive as
Jeremy kept track of time in his head. The ride took thirty minutes from his
home. In which he could hear the sounds of the city getting fainter and
fainter then gone. Sounds of the city were replaced with the sounds of
animals on farms. In his head he was cursing up a storm.
This meant they were still headed out further. It seemed like they hadn't even
reached their destination. One of the men leaned down to check on Jeremy.
That was his only chance to get out of there. Not the smartest thing but
staying put wasn't smart either. When he could feel the other person's breath
it was time. Opening his eyes he slammed the man into the side of the van.
The other man in the back tried to grab him as they both fell out of the back
doors. The two in the front curse as the brakes were slammed.
"How the fuck did he manage to get one over you idiots?"
The man recovering in the back of the van growled to the driver.
"If you think he is such a fucking push over you get slammed by him."
The man who fell with Jeremy was struggling to keep him down. He used
such force punching into Jeremy's stomach that he actually threw up. The
man sat down next to him seeing there was slight blood in the throw up. He
rubs his head letting out a sigh.
"Little fucker it wouldn't have been so bad if you didn't fight back."
Jeremy curled into a ball from the pain.
"Go to hell you assholes."
The driver walks over laughing. Leaning down placing a hand on his head. He
then grips Jeremy's hair pulling him up to eye level.
"Don't ever try anything like that again. If you do we will make sure you beg
us for your death."
This was turning into a living hell all just because he started being curious
about Zoe. If this many people wanted her, he couldn't just hand her over.
The man walks back to the van just throwing Jeremy into the back. The
others followed quickly getting in seeing the angry look on the drivers face.
The man who fought with Jeremy sat there looking down to him.
"You really should be more worried about yourself then that woman."
That was easy for him to say. Jeremy couldn't imagine just letting something
bad happen to Zoe after helping her all this time.
"Why do you even want her? She hasn't done anything to you."
The man sitting on the floor near him glanced up. He stretched some
leaning over towards Jeremy.
"Simple, we can't let her break the curse on Devon or should I call him
John Herman?"
That name was one Jeremy heard often from Noah. The man that scared Zoe
was the real monster that destroyed so many people's lives.
The man leaned back to his side of the van laughing. He could tell his words
had Jeremy worried and confused at the same time.
"Let me put it in a simple way. If the curse is broken we will become
human again. When Devon was cursed we helped him...in doing so the
damn woman cursed us too. At first we hated it. Now we don't want to go
back to being a worthless human."
Jeremy started to laugh. All of the men including the driver looked confused
now. The thought of them just wanting to keep their power meant they
would destroy Zoe if possible.
"How pathetic all of you are."
The guy sitting behind Jeremy grabbed him up by his throat.
"Are you wanting to be killed here without anyone even knowing about it?"
Jeremy laughed more looking into the man's eyes.
"Go fuck yourselves."
The man's anger was too great as the others tried to stop him. A loud
snapping sound could be heard followed by tearing. They looked to the man
in disbelief. He'd literally ripped Jeremy's head off by twisting it with his true
strength.
"What the fucking hell? Why would you kill the little shit here? We still
needed him to find the girl. You are always fucking shit up."
The man who was driving parked the van.
"Time to leave it here. Since you couldn't even behave we have to find a new
way to get her. James this isn't the first time you messed up a plan."
James sat there holding Jeremy's head in his hand with a smirk.
James climbed from the van just tossing the head next to his body. The
others glared at him while getting their stuff.
"Come on, Rico, Freddy, and Nate it isn't like you didn't want to off the
little fucker. Maybe he had feelings for the bitch who knows."
Nate, who had been the driver, walks over grabbing his shirt, lifting him
slightly off the ground.
"That is enough. We've all had it with you doing whatever you want. Next
time stick to the damn plan."
James scoffs some as being thrown back. Now that they had to come up with
a new plan they pushed the van onto the side of the road. James left the door
open without anyone noticing before they left. At the same time a small
transmitter had been going off connected to Noah. Jeremy had set up a bio-
transmitter in his heart. It allowed anyone he wanted to be informed of his
death. It sent out a second message to Zoe.
