Noah hissed at Max to hide in his wardrobe. Max hurried to the sliding mirror  opposite Noah’s bed before getting in and closing the door behind him.

“I thought you were going to Cooper’s.” Noah said to his older brother, trying not to glance at his wardrobe.

“Who are you hiding? Oh, and don’t act surprised, I could hear two people walking up the stairs.” Naoh’s brother explained, a wide grin on his face, “Go on, I won’t tell mum or dad, I promise.”

“If you tell them, Will, it will conveniently slip out that you’ve been staying over at Aminah’s most of the summer,” Noah threatened, “he’s in the wardrobe.” Noah sighed as he called for Max to come out of the closet. “Max, this is Will, Will, this is Max who is my friend. I am housing him until further notice because his parents kicked him out.” Noah decided to leave out the part about meeting on a train track less than an hour ago. Although extremely annoying, Will was also extremely protective of Noah.

“Hi.” Max said feebly.

“Hi, nice to meet you,” replied Will, before turning to Noah, “what about when mum and dad get home? Where can he go?”

“I have no clue.”

A) “I guess he could just stay here until they find out, it’s not like they’re involved with much to do with us”

B) “you can’t be legally kicked out until you’re 16, right, so...how old are you?”
