This is still something that freaks me out quite a lot to be honest. I think I know myself pretty well, but sometimes someone close to me will make a passing comment that shows they don't see me in the same way I see myself in a big way, and I know that's just part of life but oof. It rattles my sense of self haha

I'm a naturally shy, quiet, and reserved person. This is the truth and how I obviously perceive myself, but I've had SO many people approach my partner when I'm away and be like "Why doesn't Sam like me?" or "Did I do something to upset them?" They perceive my awkward attempts at conversation (or attempts to avoid conversation lol) and my constant darting gaze as a sign of coldness and disinterest! I'm just like no, plz! I just have the social intelligence of a watermelon! Forgive me! 😫🍉
