Grim figure beside

My Death Bed

I fear you not

I’ve seen you at my side

For the longest time

I knew my time

Was ending

The doors of life

Closing

The doors of death

Opening

You’re lonely as well I see

All I’ve loved is gone

I know how you feel

That look in your eyes

Those empty sockets can still give off

Sadness and loneliness

You’ve silently been following me

On these last few miles

I’ve must’ve been a terrible companion

I haven’t contributed to the conversation at all

I welcome you, friend.

Carry this world-weary spirit to the next destination

Death you are most welcomed

Edgy poem is edgy

In all fairness, somewhat inspired by what Wynne says in Dragon Age Origins where one who lives a full life shouldnt be afraid of death. My own personal belief is that as tragic as death is, one should not fear it.
