Cooking wasn't something Devin was at all capable of besides knowing how to use the microwave like a pro so he stopped for a pizza before heading home. Doing his best to not let his mind venture out too far about Hunter coming over, it was just a bag after all the interaction would take like what a minute of their time.
Well that's what he told himself till Hunter knocked on his door asking to come in throwing his quick exchange out the window. Devin stepped back from the door allowing him to come in taking his bag as it was handed to him placing it beside the door for now.
"How did the meeting go?"
"Honestly better than I expected it to. They sound pretty fucking serious about wanting to do this deal with us. Just gotta hold up our end of course which isn't going to be hard at all."
All they had to do was perform and the rest would just fall into place having faith in the fans he had here in the US and definitely the ones in the UK. It was hard for Hunter to hide his excitement this was his dream the only dream he ever had, to make it in the music industry only taking him twenty-eight years to get this far.
"I really can't fucking believe it like everything I want is right in front of me now, just unbelievable." Hunter taking a deep breath trying to calm himself.
Devin nodded at his words, not really sure what to say, other things on his mind, things he didn't care to be there. His hand rubbed the back of his neck nervous that he was even thinking about asking Hunter what was on his mind, getting to the point that it just came blurting out.
"Why did you kiss me last night?"
His chest got so tight as the words left his lips, saying the words meant it really happened. There was no taking it back or acting like it was something he just wished had happened. It was real.
Hunter smiled at Devin, it took longer than he thought it would for him to ask. Moving over to his sofa Hunter sat down, arm resting along the back of it.
"Cause I wanted to." Honest answer, he did want to. "Actually I wanted more but . . "
Devin's expression pulled Hunter's words to a halt clearly conflicted with the kiss, much like he expected thinking it was good he didn't do what he actually wanted to last night with him.
"What made you think it was okay or that I wanted something like that?" Blurted Devin again unable to control his tone.
Hunter sighed heavily, getting up from the sofa moving over to where Devin was standing. He looked deep into his forest green eyes. Devin felt his breathing get shallow as he approached, body tensing up, nerves building.
"I just know."
"Just know?" Devin was not satisfied with that answer.
Hunter looked off to the side then back at Devin, "Like right now I bet I could kiss you and you wouldn't do anything about it, because I know what you really want."
Devin took a step back shocked, hitting the backside of the kitchen counter as he did, feeling trapped once more. There was no way he could know anything he wanted. Devin prided himself on never showing signs of his true feelings towards the same sex. They were the most pushed down and locked away from the world, even to himself. Something he has yet to say out loud to make real.
Hunter couldn't possibly know those things about him. Hunter just looked at him as Devin fought the idea that he might in fact know such knowledge about him. If people just opened themselves to see others not be so centered in their own wants and needs he personally felt anyone could see what he saw in Devin as well. The struggle to fight against what he truly felt and wanted, the things he knew that would make him happy but also the things that didn't fit the normal standards of the world. The standards Hunter threw out and forgot long ago.
Devin opened his mouth only to close it not able to find the words he wanted to say in the moment.
"I don't plan on doing anything to you again, no matter how much I personally would like too."
And oh would he like to do somethings.
"Last night was just a test to answer my suspicions. I would say I'm sorry about it but I'm honestly not. Just gonna promise it won't happen again unless you ask for it." Hunter smiled, backing away from Devin.
He wasn't going to force himself onto him anymore than he already had. Hunter fighting back the urges he was feeling to touch Devin. He relaxed back a little as Hunter moved away. Telling himself that asking Hunter for anything wasn't something he saw happening in his future.
"You know where to find me if you're interested." Stated Hunter moving off to the front door. "In anything."
Hunter could play the waiting game if it came down to that. Waiting for Devin to come to him, even if it was just for someone to talk to he would be there for it.
Devin couldn't wrap his mind around that fact that Hunter seemed to know everything about him, well at least everything he didn't want anyone to know about it. His words really got to him as he laid in bed trying to fall asleep but instead just tossed and turned. Maybe he was just bluffing when he spoke, only going off the reaction he gave. Maybe he just found it fun to fuck with him, that being where he got his kicks.
If so that really would pissed Devin off, the whole situation really did in general. He didn't even want to begin to think about if Hunter told someone what happened between them or what he thought he so called 'just knew' about him.
