A common occurrence in Dissociative Identity Disorder is losing time, or the amnesia gap between other parts being present. This can be a gap of simply minutes, to days, and in some cases (such as mine)-- years. Sometimes this can be called a dissociative fugue. It feels like sleeping, sort of... because you weren't actually asleep.
People with DID may find themselves "filling in the gaps" by attempting to recover emails, passwords, phone PINs, list goes on.
