Music started to fade in slowly, there was this energy that Devin could feel pulsing off of Hunter as he moved on the stage, like it was where he belonged. It was clear to see that he was at home up there, a feeling Devin knew he would never feel for himself but it caused him to feel happy seeing Hunter that way. To know that it was at least possible for some.
When he began to sing one would think his German accent would be washed out but if anything it was stronger, even some lyrics were what Devin assumed to be German. Hunter learned to speak German almost eight years ago, spending most of his time there than other parts of the UK, all of his band members spoke German to so it only made sense for him to learn it. The set they had lined up for the night was the set they planned on recording for the EP, there were a few changes they wanted to make and wanted to hear live before saying they would go with it.
"Are you enjoying yourselves tonight?" Asked Hunter.
The crowd roared and yelled in unison as a response.
"I'm sorry I can't hear you?" He asked, leaning towards the crowd again.
The cheering even louder than before Devin finding himself joining in with them. Oddly enough he was enjoying himself, wasn't sure if it was from the beers he was making his way through or Hunter. The music wasn't that unpleasant either, they had a bit of a HIM mixed with a Lord of the Lost sound going on, a few bands that Devin did listen to. He figured with the other bands Smith and Davey listened to that Hunter's band would be a lot harder than it sounded.
Personally he was more of a lyrics person, he actually listened to what was being sung hearing the emotions seeing how they affect Hunter as he performed and that was pulling Devin in deeper than ever before.
All of it was working for him, Hunter was pretty much the dream guy for anyone, amazing voice accent and all, body like a god, lead singer in a band that was going to make it big, actually singing about pretty deep shit that made Devin questioned even more about Hunter and himself. Slowly feeling like the little chick in front of him, wanting to squeal over Hunter and all that he was doing.
"We all tried telling you." Spoke Smith, leaning in real close to Devin's ear doing his best not to shout at him. "Told you Black Souls was the shit."
On the stage there was another part that took Hunter over, it was something deep down that just thrived to be there, feeling most at home once the light hit with the mic in his hand things couldn't be any better than when he was performing. The songs he wrote and sang to others were little pieces of himself sharing his secrets, wants, needs, connecting himself to others. The look in one's eyes showed if they really came to understand the lyrics in which he sang.
He wasn't mad or upset at the ones that could only hear the music that played; not everyone was meant to understand it. Eyes always scanning the crowd for the ones who could, stopping more than once on Devin's face seeing that he was one that could actually hear him. Witnessing that caused him to feel even better.
Maybe Devin could see some more of the light he was trying to show him. Bringing their final song to the end Hunter thanked everyone for coming out tonight to rock with them, promising great things from Black Souls in the near future hooking his mic back to the stand before walking off with the rest of his mates.
The crowd cheering louder than ever as they exited the stage, slowly everyone began to flow back towards the exit. Smith didn't budge just yet, enjoying the rest of his beer.
"I'm glad you came out." Spoke Hunter appeared on the stage again.
Hopping off the edge with ease his boots echoing in the pretty empty room, making his way over to them. Face still smeared with the paint which began to run in the middle of his show from the sweat but only made it look more demure and sexy to Devin.
"Didn't expect you to show." He motioned towards Devin but clearly happy to see him.
"You know I wouldn't let him not come." Chimed Smith.
"Plus he liked it even if he won't admit it."
Devin looked at the two of them about to speak up but got cut off.
"Hunter, wir sind verdammt nochmal fertig zu gehen. (We're ready to fucking go)." Spoke the guy that played bass for the band appearing on the stage just like Hunter had.
"Schön, morgen um Punkt 10 Uhr. (Fine tomorrow morning ten sharp.)" Spoke Hunter turning back waving the guy off.
"Aexl is always so fucking impatient."
Then again they had just flown in this morning and the time difference wasn't a little one either. Pretty sure they were just going to head back to their hotel for the night they had a long day ahead of all of them. Something Hunter should do himself but was so hyped up from the show to even think about sleeping eyes glancing over at Devin then Smith.
"You guys wanna go out for a drink or something?" Asked Hunter.
Smith taking in a hissed breath, "Actually I need to head in, got an early session tomorrow that's gonna be a major piece slash pain in my ass."
It was already hitting midnight as it was, Hunter looking over at Devin, "And you don't drink."
Devin didn't like to drink, it only caused his unwanted feelings to surface, much like they were now the few beers flowing through him working some magic.
"Actually, I could go for a drink." Devin spoke up, causing the two of them to turn and look at him. "What?"
"Nothing." They chimed again, Hunter smiling.
"Don't let him get too wasted again." Spoke Smith to Hunter as he bounced out, making sure Devin didn't over do it.
"Just give me a minute to grab my shit from the back."
Hunter hopping up on the stage disappearing to the back, Devin leaning against the stage as he waited arms crossing over his chest. Hunter grabbed his bag from the back room, once he returned hopping off the stage again next to Devin.
"So," He spoke leaning towards Devin, "Wanna just skip the bar scene and have a drink back at my room."
Devin didn't say anything just nodded, instantly causing Hunter to smile in the moment testing the waters Hunter reached down grabbing Devin's hand lightly pulling him along after him. Devin felt his body freeze up at the sudden touch not expecting it glancing around it was just the two of them there.
Letting his fingers lace between Hunters as he followed him outside, his eyes still glancing back and forth in the off chance that someone might see them. Hunter let go as they reached his car parting ways as he moved over to the drivers side throwing his bag in the backseat. He was a little surprised, fully expected Devin to pull away from him.
