Grant
"You almost killed me," Clae complains.
"Stop being a kid," I murmur keeping the cigarette in my mouth. He rolls his eyes and takes out the apartment keys by inserting them in the door. "Since when have I allowed you to have the keys to MY apartment?" I hold her wrist tightly, reproach.
“You haven't changed shit!” She exclaims, wriggling out of my grip and then rubs her wrist. She steps aside and I smile as I take a deep drag on my cigar before I walk past her.
Home Sweet Home.
—Segal. — The first thing I come across when coming down the stairs is Michael sitting on one of my sofas.
"Now they're taking my things," I mumble. Michael smiles and gets up, I smile the same and we shake hands and hug.
"You needed it." He says, shrugging. "The words have diminished now?" He asks with mocking, I smile again and when Clae arrives in the room, I look at him annoyed.
"Get out." I order leaning back on one of the sofas to continue smoking my cigar quietly.
"Hey Segal, things have changed here." Michael seems to defend her, frowning.
"You must respect her."
"And that bitch must respect my space." I let out annoyed.
“ENOUGH!” Michael yells before I can answer her. "Clae, leave us a moment alone," he asks seriously, she just nods, glares at me once more and leaves the room. "You have no idea how hard he's worked all this time, Grant."
"It tastes like shit to me." She threw the butt on the ground.
—Take the time you want to get up, you can't start so soon, go out, drink, fuck a few women and when you're ready in a month or two you'll go back to work.
"I need to go back now, Michael, jail has consumed me as you have no idea."
"Then let me kill her, no one will find out, I promise." I smile but he doesn't stop looking at me seriously.
"If not, it wouldn't be my job." He shrugged. Smile. "What do you know about Sarkozy?" I question, lighting another cigarette, so long without smoking has driven me crazy.
"She was on the news reporting that you are leaving today." That makes me smile.
"I'll pay you an unexpected little visit."
"Don't even think of that stupid idea!"
"Oh come on, I'll just say hi."
"You just got out Grant, damn it, don't make them put you in again."
"But we are friends." I defend myself.
"Grant Segal, it never changes." She shook her head from side to side and smiled once more.
Beth
"YEAH!"
We're dancing in the middle of a gay bar dance floor, Sergio has met a boy and they seem very happy, and I just feel drunk enough to have a good time. I laugh out loud when I see Sergio dancing and taking a sip of my drink I go back to the table. I take the bag, and check my cell phone, it's eleven o'clock. I make a face, I'm having a good time but I want to find someone to distract myself with. I go to Sergio and touch him on the shoulder.
"Come on pretty, show us your moves!" He says, grabbing my hand and turning me around, I just laugh.
"Okay, I understand, it's your turn," he says smiling and shrugging his shoulders apologetically. She separates a little to say something to the other boy, she nods and then they approach me again. "Come on!" Says Sergio, holding the boy by the hand, smiles and walks towards the exit. Follow me. We get to the parking lot, and I open the car and stagger a bit before I can get in to drive.
"Pretty, Leo can drive if you want." Sergio tells me, I just seat and I throw him the keys.
He takes them and we get in the car, we play the music at full volume, "Jason Derulo's Wiggle ft. Snoop Dogg »comes on on the radio and we sing like we're at a concert.
Minutes later we have arrived at Cirqus, one of the best nightclubs. There is a huge line to get in but I solve it by pulling out my VIP card and smiling at the doorman. The club is packed. We went up to the VIP area, ordered some drinks and started dancing to the music. Sergio has fun with his partner and I dance with them from time to time.
I walk away and lean back on the railing, a tactic of attraction. I take a sip of my cocktail and start to watch people dance. Someone leans on the railing next to me and I smile proudly. When I turn around I see a boy with brown hair and eyes of the same color, wearing a sky blue shirt and beige pants. Hm, okay.
"It would be nice to dance there, wouldn't it?" He says suddenly, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Excuse me?"
"It would be nice to dance with you." She says smiling and I look at him confused but at the same time I smile.
"I'm Beth." I extend my hand.
"Oh okay, you don't look like a killer," I smile with a shrug. Laugh, but what a nice laugh.
"Are you dancing, Beth?" She asks in my ear touching my waist with one of her hands, I just nod and take my hand leading us towards the center.
