“Let’s say hello to the military shall we”? Zaheed thundered into the warehouse alongside his dogs (guards) with a camera and a Mic. Stand. He was going to make a video and mail it to the military, requesting for $2.5 million as ransom for Steve and I, in 24hours or else the next video would feature him chopping off our heads and mounting it on a spike…
terrorists don’t make empty threats…
“Hey scumbag, what now? What’s with the camera huh? So we’re going Hollywood style now? Well, where’s my script? I like to play the bad guy role. Chuckles… you’re a real clown man”… I taunted him as usual…
“Ha-ha… Look sergeant, we’re about to become movie stars” Steve joined the taunting queue…
“Tsk, tsk, tsk… you won’t look like a movie star if I don’t get my cash in the next 24hrs. Old friend”… Zaheed said as he bent over and looked at Steve straight dead in the eye.
“Like hell I won’t… Old friend”! Steve replied as he gave Zaheed a hard nod on the nose… as Zaheed was still trying to understand what had just hit him and how Steve got set loose, he got another blow on the nose –Steve bounced on him with a superman punch as he staggered to regain balance, bleeding profusely all over the face through his broken nose…
Meanwhile I was busy with the boys at the other end of the warehouse. I kneed one of them on the balls and as he bent over in pain I held his head and smashed his face on my knee. Hit the next guy with the Mic. stand, disarmed him and then knocked him out with a clap-punch on both temples…
“K.O! This was easier than I thought”… I exclaimed as I clapped my hands vertically and then dusted my shoulders in pride…
Steve and Zaheed were still raining punches on each other but Zaheed was taking most of the hits. The clash got intense and soon Zaheed got trapped in the muscular arms of Steve, choking to death, he struggled to escape the grip but Steve won’t let go; he was going to end it There and then… Zaheed slowly faded away… it’s over now…
“Goodbye old friend”… Steve said…
“Come on boss lets go”… I called on Steve from the exit door where I was on OP (observation post)…
************Shots fired!!!************
As Steve and I were about to exit the warehouse, shots fired!!!…
It was Zaheed, he had faked his death earlier… "goodbye to you old friend" … he muttered in mockery as he slowly jerked himself from the floor…
I had just stepped outside the warehouse when I heard the gunshot from behind me. “Dang it!” I quickly rewind into the warehouse and behold, Captain Steve was lying helpless on the floor, soaked in the pool of his own blood. It was a headshot, an instant kill. There was no saving him now…
No sign of Zaheed in the warehouse. I stood over Steve’s body; rage slowly growing in me as the beast in me was immediately unleashed. Retribution will certainly be my next mission… I bent over to help shut his eyes which were wild open even in death, just then a bullet hit me at the end of my right arm, very close to my heart; Zaheed shot me from where he took cover… I staggered backwards as I put pressure on the arm with my left hand, jungle-rolling myself through the exit door, out of the warehouse. I was lucky Zaheed missed the rest of his shots…
However, the shots fired were enough alarm as multiple tangos approached the warehouse to make sure things doesn’t go south. I was out-numbered, unarmed and wounded. “Oh crap! Can this get any more worse”? I muttered under my breath, biting my lips in pain; my shoulder was killing me…
I quickly took a hard pass. I jumped off the one story building… Ahhhhrrrr! More pain as I fractured my ankle upon landing. I literally dragged myself and disappeared into the woods…
Hit me, I’m sure I can take the hit.
Kill me; make sure I don’t survive the hit.
If I do, I’ll come for you and I’ll make sure you get a piece of me
Retribution is a gift to the survivor…
This was my retribution song…
