Violette sat down in her favourite chair, dark mahogany wood with black silken seating, finally being able to relax. Halloween this year was supposed to be her free day, but guess what? Some human brats had the nerve to summon her. On a Blue Moon Halloween nonetheless!
She placed the vial she had been holding the entire trip home down on the side table. A blue light was shining inside the ornate glass vessel.
"You ugly looking woman! Let me out of here!"
With a snap of her fingers she shushed the soul. Within a few hours the girl would probably scream again. She should have left the voice back with the body, but alas, she had been too lazy to do that. Extracting one's soul without it's voice was a more intricate process and she couldn't be bothered to go through the trouble of doing so. Not on her day off.
Another snap of her fingers summoned an imp, clad in a black frilly dress.
"Get me some lemon tea, Pips. And while you're at it, bring me my purple afternoon gown."
The imp bowed. "Yes, Mistress."
Just as Violette's servant had disappeared, a knock on the door prevented the demon goddess from properly relaxing.
"Now what?"
She marched through the dark hallway on her stockings, being glad that Pips had just recently cleaned. With an exasperated look on her face she opened the front door, ready to vent about never having a moment to herself.
"Hi Violette." It was Nora.
Nora was a shapeshifter, today donning a strawberry blonde pixie cut and a red sundress. Freckles decorated her sunkissed face. She was Violette's bound partner.
"Hi Nora." The demon goddess' plans to vent fell, she couldn't do that to her.
The shapeshifter looked her girlfriend up and down. "Did something happen on your day off? You're wearing your work clothes."
Violette let her in and sighed while closing the door.
"A stupid summoning. One moment I was enjoying some Ceylon, the next I was trapped in a damn magic circle on Earth. The bosses must have forgotten to close my portal for the day."
They sat down on a black and purple couch, Nora ran her hand over the rhinestone decorations. Violette had a peculiar taste when it came to furniture. A cloud of silver smoke formed out of thin air and Pips had returned with tea and the lady's gown.
"Your tea and afternoon gown, Mistress," The imp looked over to the visitor. "Does Pips need to fetch another cup and saucer?"
Nora nodded. "Yes please."
Another 'poof' and Pips was gone again, seconds later a matching cup and saucer appeared on the glittery glass coffee table. Violette poured Nora and herself some fragrant lemon tea. The demon goddess liked it lemoney, so she had her servants infuse the tea themselves. No weak shit for her.
"Ghaaaaaaah!"
Nora turned her head where the noise came from and saw the glowing vial.
"Did you steal a soul again? Do you remember what happpened the last time? I had to nurse you back to health for a week."
"She was disrespectful to me!" Violette pouted while simultaneously stripping out of the too revealing outfit. The long purple afternoon gown was more her style, the fabric covered in frills and lace and ribbons. She put the gown on and sat back on the couch, the wide skirt covering half the seating.
"There, there," Nora patted the demon goddess on her head.
The demon goddess sighed. "This time I made sure nothing bad happens to me. Or us. I put a tracker spell on the strongest witch present, plus another power reducing spell." She got off the couch and picked up the soul from the side table. After putting another silencing spell on it, she placed it her enchanted cupboard, looking forward to forgetting the whole ordeal.

"So, how do we find this witch your mom was talking about?"
Eliza took the picture her mother had given her, out of her dress' pocket. Thank the Moon Bunny for pockets.
"Her name is Elanorah Rathz. Her daughter Sybil is supposedly running an antique shop in Salem."
Rose took the picture Eliza offered and saw two women side by side, smiling. Both had the same black, curly hair, though the mother had a darker complexion than her daughter. The older woman wore a silver circlet with a single blue stone in the center on her head.
"I think our best option is to try and find Sybil first."
The girls loaded the car with their backpacks and a bag full of snacks. It would be a long way to Salem, so they needed the sugar.
Before they could settle in, a voice called out to them.
"Girls!" It was Belle, she came running out of the sorority building, almost tripping on the stairs, "Wait just a sec!"
Belle had to catch her breath before speaking.
"I thought you two might want a place to stay over during your trip, so I called my sister. She said she will gladly let you stay for the night," The blonde girl smiled, happy to help.
The duo returned the girl's smile and gratefully accepted. Having a short stopover would be nice, especially since it would be quite a long journey to Salem.
"Alright, we'll be going now," Eliza waved at her mother, who was hanging out of the window of Ino's room on the first floor. She would stay for a bit longer to make sure the President was stable and helping the other girls staying behind with the care of their friend.
Belle hugged Eliza and Rose, gave them the adress of her sister and then sent them off. Rose was driving as Eliza still had twinges of pain in her arm. Not that she would let anyone else but herself drive in her precious blue race monster. She grinned at the thought of Eliza getting surprised at the speed of her car. She would probably get scolded though if she went over the speed limit.

Ino woke up. It felt as if she had slept for ages, and yet she didn't feel refreshed at all. It took a while for her to process her surroundings. All she could see was the dark. There was nothing else. Panic started to set in. After all that had happened, she couldn't anymore.
We'll get your soul back soon enough, you'll see.
The voice sounded familiar. Belle? Rose? She didn't see anyone or anything for that matter, but the fact that someone was talking to her, gave her a spark of hope.
