Luna woke up screaming and crying, "NO!!!"
The door to her room burst opened and Jue rushed to her.
"NO!" She screamed again, hiding under her blankets.
"Luna? What is wrong?" Jue asked trying to get the covers off of her.
"NO! DON'T LOOK AT ME! I AM NOTHING! I AM WORTHLESS! I'LL NEVER BE ANYTHING. I'LL ALWAYS BE AN NOTHING!" Luna cried ruthlessly.
"Luna. Luna. LUNA! Listen to me!" Jue yelled ripping the covers off of Luna and making her look at him.
"Luna! You have the upper hand in all this. Don't you see it! You feel like a human, a werewolf, and an elf. You have aspects from all three and understand them to a point because of that. I will never understand until I meet one because I am simply a vampire. Born vampire and that is all."
Jue spoke looking Luna straight in the eyes. He ran his thumb under her eyelids whipping away the tears.
"Understand this Luna. You being the way you are, is more of a reason to like you because you are not like everyone else. You have differences about you that no one else does and that is a good thing. It helps in a way because it lets you relate to others and help them see things differently. Also, it helps others to see you in a different light because you will always be wearing your weakness on your sleeve. It takes a lot of courage to not cover up that weakness."
Luna could only stare at him. "The voice said something along those lines too."
Jue raised her eyebrow and looked at her, "A….. a voice?"
Luna laughed softly, "I meant to say the voice in my dream. There were four voices. One was saying what we are trying to do will never work. That was male and then the female said that the male was basically dumb because it may work out and that he should just sit back and watch because… what was it she said. Oh, "What's one's blood to one's raw meat?" And then there was a very loud male's voice that said that they both should stop trying to predict and just see what happens. Then a raven like voice… or a crow's whichever one sounds worse to you… told me… told me I was worthless and since I have so differences that is what makes me worthless. But the louder male voice told me the crow's voice was wrong and what our families are doing is the right thing. That I am not worthless but that I could see things differently than others."
Luna said breathlessly, looking up to the smiling face of Jue.
"Well Luna, the loudest voice is right. What we are doing and what our families are doing is the right thing and your differences are what set you apart from everyone else. That, Luna, is the greatest gift of all." Jue smiled and stroked her cheek softly.
"Now, Luna, why don't you try to get some peacefully sleep this time," Jue said.
Luna smiled and looked at her sheets, "Erm, it will be kind of hard since you ripped my sheet to shreds. Do you think I could get some new ones?"
Jue looks at her then stood up and picked her up. "I'll get you new sheets later; I have some matters I need to get too. I'll put you in my bed okay?"
Luna looked up at him and nodded her head shyly.
How could I not agree to that? He's crazy. Hehe, I get to sleep in his bed. I wonder if it's more comfortable than mine. Well, I guess I'll just see.
Luna smiled to herself as Jue took her into his room.
