Leticia walked into the cool and bright outdoor of the building, watching everyone getting ready to head home. In her mind, she welcomed going back home and this whole thing was getting on her nerves. She sat down on a bench to watch several cars, heading to the building she was in. As the cars parked in front of the building, people came out of them and chatted as they headed to the entrance. Leticia’s eyes shot open wide to see, not only Zarina among the crowd of people, but another woman, who she was familiar with: Lily!
Her manager is here! Raphael claimed to her earlier that Lily would hardly come over to this complex when she asked about her. Leticia rushed towards Lily, who was still talking to Zarina.
“Lily!” Leticia called to get Lily’s attention.
Lily’s face went white, looking petrified. She babbled, “Leticia?! What are you doing here?! How did you get here?!”
“Raph took me here. Why didn’t you tell me who you really were? I want answers!” Leticia demanded of Lily.
Pulling her away from Zarina, Lily whispered to her, “Leticia! Let’s not talk about this right now.”
Leticia scoffed, “Like hell I’m not talking about this right now! Why didn’t you tell me sooner you were a part of this group? Huh?! I can’t even trust my own manager!”
Leticia watched Lily checking their surroundings. However, she grew impatient that Lily was not answering any of her questions! Just when Lily was about to talk, Zarina butted in to interrupt, which got Leticia even more annoyed! She glared at Zarina, who did nothing but smile back at her.
“Leticia, I’m glad you came here. However, Lily and I have some important business to attend to with Mikel.” Zarina stated.
With that comment, the two women hurried away from Leticia before she could say another word. Desperate thoughts ran her head yearning for answers!
Why was Lily here? Why was she so hesitate telling her anything about her involvement with the Rise of Light?
Looking over at the van, Raphael was loading up the van, preparing it for another journey to bring her group home. Leticia went back to the bench she was sitting on to wait until Raphael was ready to leave. She gazed around the complex as it reminded her a bit of back home: A functional town where there were people walking around like normal. Still, Leticia found it strange that the Rise of Light limited her to going to certain places on the complex. For reasons, there are some places around the complex that were prohibited from visitors. Only members were allowed to enter in those areas.
Leticia shrugged off the strangeness and chalked it up as some weird business thing going on. After Raphael finished preparing the van, he carried a small, brown box and gave it to her. Leticia looked at him in confusion, wanting to open the box to see what is in there. Raphael grabbed her hand to prevent her from opening it and told her, “Listen carefully, I want you to open this when you get home. I know you will have questions about mom later.”
“Um… Okay?” Leticia answered, kneeling down to the ground, and putting the box in her backpack.
One by one, people went into each of the vans even Darren and Chantel arrived in a neck of time! Leticia went into the van that her brother is driving, plopping herself into the passenger side. She buckled up her seat belt and looked at the window. Watching a small group of children playing tag on the lawn across the street, she saw some of them used their powers to cheat. Leticia continued to watch the children in fascination until the van started moving.
The further out the van went, the more the scene of the children playing disappeared from Leticia’s view. Leticia sighed as they left the complex. She was not looking forward to the long trip back to their home, Clare Point View.
