“Julia, could you tell me more about the school of divination? If I knew more about it I might consider it as an option.” Eliza asked the tall wizard. Julia instantly relaxed, a smile graced her lips and she began to explain the magic school, the smaller woman asked her questions so she could discuss it further.
“I think I see someone I know, do you want to join me babe?” Ursula said to Eliza, interrupting Julia. It was clear that she was utterly bored.
“No, I want to hear more about the applications of divination magic.” Eliza said. In truth she just did not want to go with Ursula and she genuinely enjoyed how passionate Julia became when talking about her special interest.
“Okay.” Ursula leaned down towards Eliza, her lips connecting with hers as she kissed her passionately. When they parted Ursula smirked as she looked at Eliza’s tinted cheeks.
“I’ll see you later.” The human woman said before she turned to Julia. “I look forward to seeing you again.” She winked at the wizard and left both Eliza and Julia in awkward silence. Julia broke the silence.
“You’re seeing her?” Eliza looked up at Julia, she could tell she didn’t like Ursula. Eliza pulled a small cotton cloth out of her pocket and wiped her mouth.
“Not for much longer.” Eliza responded.
“I see.” Julia looked at her slightly surprised.
“She’s a rude woman.” Eliza elaborated, she didn’t really want to go into all the details as to her being a bully and unjust.
“She’s also too old for you.” Julia added. Eliza laughed at the wizard’s bluntness.
“Maybe. Though I’m pretty sure she's into you.” Eliza responded.
“I’m inclined to be suspicious of adult women who date schoolgirls.” Julia said, her face looked serious, but her voice was soft.
“Are you calling me jailbait, Wizard?! How old do you think I am?” Eliza exclaimed in surprise. Julia playfully poked her nose, making her go cross eyed.
“Thirteen?” The wizard playfully guessed. Eliza swatted Julia’s arm, knowing full well that she was teasing her.
“I’m sixteen, three years younger than you.” Eliza laughed.
“Four years which I am glad for. I did not wish to lecture you on the dangers of underage drinking.” The wizard looked at Eliza seriously, before bursting into giggles when she couldn’t keep a straight face any longer. Eliza couldn’t help but join in with her infectious laughter.
“Okay, okay. Tell me more about divination.”
“Do you want another drink, Julia?” Eliza asked the tall wizard after having listened to her speak for a while and other people had joined them. Julia nodded her head and handed Eliza her empty metal cup.
“I would like that. A bridge ale please.” Julia asked.
Eliza wandered over to the drinks table, extremely glad that she had taken a pearl of tipsiness before coming to the party, otherwise she'd have been drunk. Instead, despite being on her fourth cup of cider, she was only a little tipsy. She felt a hand on her shoulder as she refilled Julia’s cup. She looked up to see that Ursula had come back.
“Hey.” Eliza said.
“Do you wanna leave? I’m sure you’re dying of boredom and you could come back to mine.” Ursula said suggestively. Her breath felt hot on her ear as she leaned in and nibbled it. Eliza shivered.
“No, I don’t want to go anywhere with you.” Eliza said coldly. Ursula, not wanting to take no for an answer wrapped her arms around her girlfriend’s slender shoulders, and nuzzled into her neck, peppering it with kisses.
“I really want you so badly Eliza.” Ursula murmured into her neck. Eliza glanced over where she had left Julia and was happy to see she was engaged in conversation with people that were too polite to leave. She had made sure to ask Julia about all the possible uses for divination in daily life, which had her yammering away happily; she loved seeing her talk so passionately. She shrugged her shoulder hoping that Ursula would get the hint. Instead of letting go of her, she held her tighter, her lips finding a soft spot behind her ear that would normally make her melt.
“Stop touching me.” Eliza said.
“Fine.” The taller human woman muttered crossly, letting go of the teenager, her hands going to her hips as she stared unhappily at Eliza.
“This isn’t working. We should break up.” Eliza said as she faced her, her cheeks warm. Ursula stared blankly.
“Are you shitting me?” Ursula said. She looked visibly upset.
“It’s not fun anymore.” Eliza said.
“Is this because you want to fuck her!?” Ursula almost screamed and pointed towards Julia. The commotion she made caused people to stop what they were doing and stare at them.
“No, because you’re not listening to me and frankly you’ve been behaving rudely!” Eliza exclaimed, hating that Ursula was making this a spectacle.
“You... you know what. Fuck this. Go fuck Julia Dragonsbane for all I care. I’m sure she will follow at your heels like a good little bitch.” Ursula stormed out of the room. Eliza stared after the woman who had just embarrassed her. The tops of her ears burned at all the attention she suddenly had on her, as if they were expecting her to have a meltdown. She had not expected Ursula to have blown up like that and caused a scene. She took a deep breath and turned her back on everyone and went back to pouring herself a drink, the room still silent around her.
