It's official. Tapas is closing at the end of March next year. I've been updating Errant here for years, and have fond memories of community events. I'm going to miss the vibe of stuff like Inksgiving, but mostly I'm sad to lose all those years of really funny and insightful comments!
So: Important stuff for Errant readers:
The comic will be continuing soon. I timed that incredibly, didn't I? Head over to https://errantcomic.com/ to read Errant. You can subscribe using RSS to keep up with updates, or follow me on Bluesky @darthmongoose or Patreon (just search Kate Holden on there). Patrons on Patreon will get updates early and behind the scenes content and stuff.
Second, my current ink total is about $8 and I would need $25 to withdraw, so unless you have a desire to drop a big donation, I recommend donating to people with more chance of getting their cash. I believe there are threads going on the Tapas discord about that.

Oh my! So a lot of artists will lose (admittedly small) amounts of money at the same time. Not nearly as upsetting as all the value that gets thrown away when Tapas closes. All the communities artists worked hard to build. And indeed, all of the interaction that adds a layer to the stories. For any work art comes to life most truly through being seen/heard, appreciated and referenced.
So the news is going around that Tapas is shutting down (wow, sure makes the last page of Errant about how Corporate greed was ruining the platform extra prescient, huh?). My Mx and I are currently building a new home for the comic, and I was literally just drawing the chapter cover for Ch9 when the news broke (my timing is always impeccable), so I'll post to let you all know where Errant will be updating when I have something more concrete, but to keep in touch, the best way is to follow @darthmongoose on Bluesky!

Hey, lovely readers! Just as a heads-up, there won't be an Errant update this Friday. There was a bit of a family emergency over the weekend. It's all good now, but my lack of buffer has finally caught up with me, so I'm going to spend this week getting ahead on my pages again.
