Chapter analysis: The tassel earring/clip that Mr. Rhythm gives to Ms. Flow has some symbolism. The “tassel” can signify you’re graduating from something, or you’re now ready to become an individual and stand out in society. Hence, during high school graduations, students wear a tassel.
