The Wedding Date

Just Looking

Just Looking

Oct 28, 2020

So this is how he wound up on that very same site that night.

The page displayed all sorts of beautiful and handsome men, many that Suzu would absolutely be interested in but he couldn’t bring himself to click on any of their pages. It was so overwhelming—both the choices and the fact this was something he was actually considering. How had he let himself get into this situation? Groaning, he leaned back on the couch, rubbing at his eyes.

“Ugh, this is so stupid! Maybe I should just see who Arata picks. Or…”

He looked over at his phone. There was actually a third option. One he disliked the most.

But it was free. And maybe slightly less humiliating than paying someone.

Maybe.

He could always call Jiro. Things hadn’t been that bad with his ex. They weren’t ideal but they could maybe work through it. Sure, Jiro had been a little controlling and kind of rough when handling Suzu.

Ok, not just kind of.

Very rough.

“No.” He said firmly to himself.

Things had been bad. It was over and he was better for it. There was no way he was going to go that route, he just needed to focus on the choices that he did have. The healthier options.

Or well, hopefully, healthier.

He turned his attention back to the laptop screen, back on the site that had to be full of better options than calling his ex. So many profiles to pick from. But, none really stood out to him. No one really seemed worth making this insane decision. He kept scrolling down the page until he suddenly stopped, a pair of blue eyes catching his attention.

There's nothing wrong with looking, right? Window shopping doesn't necessarily lead to buying...right?

What do you do when your best friend/ex-boyfriend expects you to show up to his wedding with a date? Well, if you're Suzu Yuudai you mostly panic and assume there are only three options: call an ex (ugh), wait to see who your friend sets you up with (nope), or hire someone. But, he's not so desperate to buy a boyfriend... right?

Or: Kit takes a cliche trope but makes it gay.
