Two hours and nearly two entire bottles of sake later, Suzu had ordered himself a date and possibly some items off his Amazon wishlist. To make him feel better about spending the money, obviously. Because that made total sense.
“This is totally fine,” he said sleepily, looking at Hoshi one last time before he finally fell asleep.
Fine is definitely how that beautiful face made him feel.
The next day came far too early—ok yes, it was nearly one in the afternoon—and he woke to his head throbbing terribly and his phone ringing way too loud. It was Saturday and he was very hungover; who was bothering him like this and why?
Fumbling around for his phone, he picked it up just before it could go to voicemail.
“Hello?” He felt himself cringe at the groggy and thick sound of his voice.
“Is this Yuudai Suzu?” came a very unexpectedly silky voice.
Suzu nearly dropped the phone in surprise. That was not the voice of someone he’d ever expect a call from.
“Y-Yeah, that’s um, that’s me.”
“Good afternoon Yuudai-san. This is Hoshi with Red Swallow Services, I believe you put in an order for me, yes?”
“Uh-huh.”
Suzu hated how dumbfounded he probably sounded. But Hoshi’s voice was so… sexy. He could barely form a coherent thought while listening to the other speak.
“According to your details, typos aside, you’re looking for a wedding date for five days plus travel, correct?”
Unfortunately, Suzu did hear that and cringed, he could only imagine what a mess his message had been after drinking so much. His head ached as an extra reminder of how stupid he’d been. He silently vowed to never drink again.
“Y-Yeah, it’s um, it’s my best friend’s wedding and I really need a date so uh…”
The other man chuckled, the sound causing a flurry of butterflies in Suzu’s stomach.
“This is a pretty standard set up, Yuudai-san. Now, I have a few questions so that I can make this the perfect date for you. And I have to do a boring little spiel to summarize the contract. Do you have the time to talk with me a little longer?”
Suzu swallowed, hoping that Hoshi couldn’t hear how nervous he was, “Of… Of course.”
