At first, Sam was sceptical about his visit to Otto. Lucy didn't know who's request it was. But once Sam knew it was from Yama, Sam was excited.he was looking forward to it.
Even though sam had nothing to do at Rarewoods town, he still had to get to the mercenary guild to sent off Oven's group. Later out of curiosity, he went around the market to look for this he could flip at Otto City.
To his surprise, the animal hide was selling at a cheaper rate of 8 copper coins. This might be due to the merchants buying in bulk. Since Windsor was a village, the merchants there couldn't buy stuff in bulk. So they couldn't make profits on bulk buys. This lead to most customers moving to the town to sell their goods in bulk. This meant they could get a higher price overall.
Rarewoods town was better off. This was a town almost at the middle of the route from Fermore to Flemins. This meant higher traffic through the town. More travellers would prefer to take rest in the towns due to villages lacking facilities. Village inns often ran out of capacity during any festival seasons. Towns were much more reliable.
Sam, even though the price was lower for the hide, he chose not to buy it. He was already a week away from Fermore. He wanted to get to Flemins as soon as possible. He lost a day in the forest between Windsor and Rarewoods. It made him a bit grumpy.
So, as soon as he restocked food and water he left straight to Flemins. It was only noon. Flemins and Rarewoods had mostly farmers. This was evident as soon as he left the town gate. Large paddy fields filled his view as far as his eyes could see. Flemins is the largest crop producers in Singala.
Vast fields extended on either side of the road. Sam, stayed at villages through the night and continued forward. In 4 days, he was able to reach the outskirts of Flemins city.
By nature, Flemins wasn't large. It was a minor city but an important one to the province. This city existed as a trading hub for merchants who traded raw goods. Most food products originated from Flemins city.
Flemins was visible after a few minutes. He has finally arrived at half point. Sam went looking for what to buy. He soon noticed the city mostly had shops related to farming. Most shops sold farming tools and seeds.
There was an adventure guild native to the city. The adventure guilds are established by people while the mercenary guilds by the country. There were no mercenary guilds in Flemins.
Sam explored the markets a bit till it was almost evening. There wasn't much that interested him. Seeds and tools didn't sell for much. The better alchemical products were not to be seen either. So feeling dejected Sam left looking for an inn.
As soon as he entered the inn, he noticed two people in an argument. One wanted to stay at the city for a few days to wait for the rest of her friends while the other wanted to move to otto tomorrow.
Sam who was feeling lonely in his travels felt he could salvage the situation. So he approached the two. "I am in a rush to get to Otto. If you feel like coming with me I could use some company." Sam looked at them with sincere eyes.
"You are a merchant? I need to get to Otto in a week."
"I also don't plan to stop anywhere else. You could say I am in a rush to get there."
"Merchants rushing to Otto?".
" you don't have to come. I was just extending a hand to help. Also, it's boring to travel alone. Besides with you being a fighter we could skip the inns and travel through the nights."
" well, I already paid for the night. So we will leave tomorrow morning. Is that okay?”
"Works for me. I just need to stock up on some cattle feed and water."
Saying so Sam proceeded to move to his room.
"I'm Marvin. See you at 6. I will be waiting by the gate." The young ranger reminded Sam.
"Sam." Sam waved his hand at their table.
"So, you are going with that guy." The young lady who was arguing with Marvin looked at Sam.
Marvin just nodded his head. Then he left for the bed saying, " See you at otto, Anna."
After a good night's rest, Sam woke up. He felt refreshed knowing that he would get to Otto soon.
The cart was already filled with cattle feed as well as water. Sam, tipping the servant girl, took the cart and left for the City gate.
From Flemins to Otto was a straight road. Marvin was waiting at the gate. He looked at Sam and then at his pocket watch. "You are late."
"It's only a few minutes."
Staring at the rest of the cart, Marvin asked, "Are you sure you don't have to stop anywhere in the way?
Anyone would have asked it. Sam had a heap of animal hide in the cart. Normally only travelling merchants used to carry stuff like this.
" Rest assured, they are all for Otto. It sells in otto for at least 25 copper a piece."
After a few exchanges, Marvin leapt into the cart along with Sam. A young lady approached from the side. "Marvin, be careful on the way and wait for me at sister's inn." It was Anna who came to send us off.
Marvin waved at Anna with a smiling face. Sam took out his whip and the bulls started moving towards Otto city. Soon, they left Flemins behind.
The road from Flemins to Otto was wider and straight. This made it easy to ride the cart. Soon, they rushed forwards at a high speed.
In two days they passed three villages. When Sam got too tired guiding the cart, Marvin would take over. They were both getting tired and decided to stop and sleep at the next inn. After a good night sleep, they continued to rush towards the city.
In a total of six days, Sam and Marvin arrived at the city gates of Otto.
